We loved our time at Estero Inn. The location is perfect along the waterfront, there are lots of nice eateries and shops nearby and you can rent boats or kayaks next door.
The staff are lovely, really friendly people, and the rooms are fantastic. The wildlife is spectacular too - in two days we spotted sea otters, sea lions, ospreys, divers and grebes and a bald eagle.
There's so much to explore in the local area. If you like wildlife, you can walk down to the boardwalk trail or drive to the elephant seal viewing point north of San Simeon. Kayaking on the bay is recommended, and good value.

Loved Morro Bay, but wish we'd had more time to visit other places around the area. Easy walk to shops and restaurants on main street. We especially liked Kickers (Tabitha was awesome), The Great American Fish Company, and Blue Sky Bistro. This was our first trip to the area, but it won't be our last.

Morro Bay is a charming small oceanside town.
Morro Bay is a charming small oceanside town. It is quiet, at least in February when we visited. The sea lions and otters are fun to watch and listen to. There are lots of restaurants and bars to chose from for going out. We loved the wine and beer choices at The Savory Palette. There is live music but not on the night we were there.

We were surprised by the small town.
We were surprised by the small town. Great places to eat and buy souvenirs, but best of all was seeing the otters and their cubs up close. We loved it! There were also some harbor seals on the platforms. Guaranteed fun for animal lovers. We also took a walk to Morro Rock and watched the sandbanks and the waves breaking on the rocks. It was great! We had breakfast at Frankie and Lola's Front Street Cafe. We had lunch at Tognazzinis, dinner at The House of Juju and beer at Three Stacks and a Rock Brewing Company.
This hotel was the most wonderful. Our favorite stop on our drive up the coastal highway. Morro Bay in general had a warm feeling to it right when we arrived. The room was clean, bed comfy, and the front desk woman was lovely and talked to us about the surrounding area. In the morning when we woke the Cafe next door had good breakfast food and a free gigantic cinnamon roll complimentary from the hotel was given. We were able to wake across the street to see seals and beavers floating around and sleeping. It was just lovely.
I love that the staff showed us around the hotel, gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolates from the candy store downstairs and the location couldn't have been any better (unless we booked the room with the view). We were so close to the stores, view and restaurant that we never had to log anything around with us or use a public restroom. Rooms were very clean and modern. Glad we were able to land this location and hope we can book one with the ocean view next time.
I know Morro Bay very well and chose this place on purpose. Including knowing it was close to Dorns .. one if our favorite places .
There was a relatively new employee who is doing a great job .. I have been in the Hotel and Hospitality industry for 40+ years.. I requested an upgrade which was a fair price and myself and my sons enjoyed the balcony..
you ought to keep her .. I’m sorry I don’t remember her name.. thank you for the stay! Breakfast was a nice touch!
This was by far the best hotel I have stayed at while in Morro Bay. The room had everything we needed and was laid out and designed as actual people would use. The plugs all had USB ports and were in every location you could possibly need one. The best of all was the crown light that acted as a mood light in the room. I have never seen this done before and it is absolutely beautiful. This is now our go-to place in Morro Bay. Well done team at Blufftop, you outdid everyone!!
It was easy to get to get to the hotel, is well located in Morro Bay just blocks away from the beach. Was the perfect peach stop on our California journey along the central coas, since Morro Bay is located very close to San Luis Obispo.
This was a really good place for staying in Morro Bay! you could walk everywhere, in 5 mins you were on the beach and on the Main Street where many restaurants were available. they also gave us breakfast (Covid style…).
Quality beach side hotel. For the price and location, you cant lose. We stay in Morro Bay at least 5+ times a year, and this was one of our favorite hotels. The owner was very nice and accommodating as well.
It’s a cute place with views of Morro Rock. The room was spacious with a huge bed. The room had everything we needed. The hotel is walking distance of Morro Bay with all it has to offer. We would go back.
Staff was very friendly, we enjoyed some of the complimentary items and the hotel was near a lot of places we love when we visit Morro Bay. Staff was very helpful and welcoming shout out to Mr.Harry!
The property was in a great location and very clean. Staff was extremely friendly. We could have stayed for weeks. Would highly recommend to stay when in Morro bay.
