Our room was big and comfortable with a nice terrace that allowed us to enjoy being indoors when it was pouring rain. The view was amazing, jungle and the sea, and the staff was very friendly. The best thing by far is that it was a great place to spot animals. From our room we saw all kinds of monkeys, lizards squirrels, birds and even a sloth who was sleeping above the parking. It was really magical!

Beautiful national park and the amenities in the surrounding...
Beautiful national park and the amenities in the surrounding town are plenty. It was easy to walk around, although take notice of the traffic on the main road. It got pretty busy and fast sometimes. We stayed near our resort for meals within walking distance- El Wagon was a good family spot for dinner's not spent at our resort. We had an excellent lunch and cup of coffee at Emelio's Café. The town has plenty of grocery stores for any daily needs.
We only tried two beaches. Playa Bisanz had tricky parking and the guys watching cars honestly looked a bit sus. We did not stay there for long. Playa Manuel Antonio was absolutely beautiful. The park fee/ reservations keep it low key and it's well worth the visit and admission fee. The water was warm and the beach clean. Watch your belongings as the capuchin monkeys that bounce around are more than happy to raid your bag, as we witnessed happening to one of our fellow beachgoers.
If you're driving yourself to the park, take notice of the official parking. The locals are harmless but a bit aggressive with trying to get you to park in their lots so they can charge you. We got forced into a lot by a gentleman jumping into the road, then kicked out when we told them we didn't want a guided tour with them. We laughed it off, as we could have easily just driven around him. If you book your adventures with a company, they all offer transpiration.
That said, a guided tour with a reputable company (We did Jade Tours) for the national park is a must. We saw WAAAAY more than we would have on our own, including a sloth fight. Well worth the fee.
We also did a kayak/mangrove tour with Narcacosta and a guided horseback/waterfall tour with Brisas del Nara- I cannot say enough good things about either one of these organizations. Top tier experience, knowledgeable guides, and beautiful facilities.

I forgot to mention before about the assistance I got from the customer service representative ELISABETH. She helped me since the very begin of my reservation to the very end with great knowledge, efficiency and patience. I am I little challenged with the internet but she was right there for me, did not matter the time. We are all lucky for having her.

Absolutely stunning area of Costa Rica.
Absolutely stunning area of Costa Rica. A very nice and friendly vibe in the area. No safety concerns at all. Beaches.....just "wow". Do not miss this area. Stayed for 6 nights...could easily have stayed longer.

Good beaches.
Good beaches. Espadilla, even when crowded, is large enough that you can walk a little and get a fairly empty beach if you prefer. A car is a must-have if you plan to explore the town, but you're not missing much if you stay in a resort with beach and jungle access the whole time. The most expensive restaurants are good, all others are nothing special and just okay to not be hungry. You'll get better treatment as a foreigner because people expect tips, so definitely take advantage of that if you are one.

Mid-February is very hot and humid for this area - 90 degrees Fahrenheit everyday. We really enjoyed visiting the park and seeing rainforest wildlife, swimming at the beaches (watch out for strong rip tides!), and familiarizing ourselves with an area we had never been to before. Be ready to pay tourist prices (you are in a high tourism area - and it is so for a good reason), but if you can get an apartment with a kitchen, visiting the Quepos farmer's market and being able to make some of your own meals make this area more affordable. Glen's on the beach has the best chairs and his whole family is so kind and helpful. Going into the park for the first time with a guide is highly recommended, but so is going a second time on your own at your own pace. Get there first thing in the morning, because it heats up and gets busy after 9 AM. Eat at the Falafel Bar, like everyone says, because it is delicious (the smoothies are really refreshing). The public busy is easy to navigate, so use it and explore! Favorite activity in the area, other than the national park, was by far the Night Damas Mangrove Tour with Iguana Tours. Explore and have fun!

The room and bathroom was large and balcony overlooked the jungle, monkeys and birds came to the balcony everyday
The area is so lush with beautiful flowers and trees. The beach area and ocean was really nice. The way down to the beach was easily accessible, the path down has ropes on both sides to help.
Swimming pool was lovely surrounded by tables and umbrellas could have meals there if chosen. Excursions easily booked by agents and very informative.
This hotel was perfect for our visit to Manuel Antonio National Park! The location near the park and the beach outside the park cannot be beat. We were able to leave our car at the hotel and walk into the park. We also loved the pool on the property, the complimentary coffee & included breakfast, and the beach towels that were provided. The best part was probably the staff - the woman who checked us in & out and helped us during our stay was so fantastic. Would recommend this to anyone visiting the park/area!
Everything! If you want to stay in Manuel Antonio this is by far the best option. It is some minutes walk to the National Park, to the beaches and restaurants and to Manuel Antonio bus station if you come by bus from San Jose. It is one of the only hotels with views where you can enjoy amazing sunsets from the pool, your room or from the great restaurant terrace. The staff is amazing, Jorge is the best!!!Breakfast is also good and that infinite swimming pool is the most relaxing thing after a warm day.
We liked the different breakfasts on offer. The rooms were a good size and great to have a balcony to enjoy the views of the garden. Loved seeing the wildlife around the hotel grounds too. We had a day by the pool which was relaxing and we took the local bus to the beach and Manuel Antonio Park. It was easy to walk to the local restaurants in the evening such El Avion and El Wagon. We also enjoyed the happy hour cocktails and had a good meal at the hotel in the evening.
The hotel is on the beach. This is my second time staying there and I absolutely love it. It's in the middle of the action in the daytime, and it is very quiet at night. You can walk to restaurants including one on site, and you can easily reach a little corner store. You can also walk to the Manuel Antonio National Park very easily. Because it is so close to the park, a variety of wildlife comes right to the beach and in the hotel (monkeys, birds, iguanas, frogs).
The location is amazing. Right next to the entrance to Manuel Antonio Nat Park and also a short walk to the beach. The restaurant in the hotel was great. And there are other restaurants close by. There is a small supermarket next door. They have a secure parking lot for $10 a day. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They offer different tours at the front desk. The pool was relaxing and cool . The grounds are pretty and we saw iguanas and monkeys.
Well located hotel, very close to the beach and Manuel Antonio parc. The room was simple but comfortable. The staff was very accommodating, allowing us to leave our bags at the reception while visiting the park. We could also leave our car in the hotel's parking.
The pool was a nice bonus. Overall a nice place, but showing signs of ages. With some renovations / fresh paint it could become an amazing location. Ideal for a short stay to visit the park.
This place is incredible. Great rooms, friendly-staff, wonderful breakfast. Sloths and monkeys play on the trees right outside your balcony. Good pools for kids and adults. The restaurant is very good, and their is a path that walks down to a beautiful beach. One of my favorites hotels in a long time. Only ten minutes to Manuel Antonio National Park. Great for families, but it would be a good romantic places as well.
Nice pools and location within the forest where you can see monkeys, birds, sloths. Facilities include various pools, a spa, and a gym my daughter visited. The self laundry area was very convenient. I reserved Parador since it had good reviews and said it was a 5 star hotel. I stayed in several hotels in Costa Rica, mainly 4 stars hotels, and the experience was much better by far.
The location of his hostel is great: close to the entrance of Manuel Antonio Park and to the beach. Rooms are basic but fine. The bathroom is shared with no hot water. The staff was very friendly and brought us a very extensive breakfast each day. The restaurant of the hotel is good too! We ate there both nights, as it's also much cheaper than other restaurants in the village.
Heaps of showers and toilets that were cleaned at least twice a day (never had to wait). Hot showers with good pressure. Moroccan restaurant was nice with fresh yummy healthy bowls and fast service. Hotel and property are lovely with nice pool and walking trails. 10min walk to Manuel Antonio town and where you can catch the bus to the national park/beach.
Friendly staff. Great little hotel on walking distance (aprox. 800 m) from entrance gate national park Manuel Antonio. Cross the main road, walk 2 min and you'll find a lovely beach with rental chairs and a bar/restaurant. Busstop in front of the hotel makes Quepos easily accessible. Every morning and late afternoon monkeys visit the pool area :-)
The hotel is in a good location and close to Manuel Antonio National Park and the beach. It is at the bottom of the hill which makes it easier to get transportation and there is a public bus station right across from it. The rooms were clean and the comfortable. The decor and aesthetic of the igloos was cool, with a pool that was accessible.
Amazing place! Jim was a perfect host for us, very kind! The room was super spacious and complete. The location is great, you can reach the Manuel Antonio National Park easily by bus (the bus stop is very close). We easily walked to the Biensanz beach and to the Espadilla beach. There’s a market and good places to eat nearby.
La Vela is a nice hotel in a fantastic location walking distance to the beach and Manuel Antonio National Park. I wouldn’t consider it a “luxury” hotel, but it’s very comfortable with an awesome bartender by the pool to indulge in some cocktails. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made the experience very enjoyable!
The place is lovely, rooms are spacious, bathrooms are in perfect conditions as the pool and igloos. Food is great and staff is very helpful (booking taxis, restaurants etc). The hotel is less than a 5 min walk to Espadillas Beach and 15min walk to Manuel Antonio's Park.
They have a lovely puppy called Toby too
Walking distance to Manuel Antonio Park Beach. The whole property is very clean. Room is spacious with a balcony. We stayed in a room with a lovely garden view. Walking distance to stores and restaurants as well as entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park. Hotel provides beach towels.
great location at the entrance f the national park. Beach access is not that direct and not the nicest as it's public, but you can walk on the beach.
The food at the hotel was really good and with very good prices. Breakfast was very good
Nice hotel with really nice rooms on the hill. Private access to the beach makes it special and that’s highly recommended! Staff was also really nice. Manuel Antonio park is walking distance and avoids paying the parking there.
Hotel is on a beautiful beach, good resturant on the area that serves breakfast at a fair price, good resturants nearby that you can take bus/taxi to. Close to manuel antonio park.
Location, in between Quespos and Manuel Antonio but also on a noisy morning road. Its old hotel but with ok buffet breakfast that is very unusual in Costa Rica.
