The hosts were outstanding. Very helpful about local events and activities. We got a wonderful account of the history of the area and some fiddle playing after a delicious breakfast. Above and beyond expectations. Wonderful place to stay

This is a lovely place to stay! I have stayed there on two different occasions and had a wonderful experience both times. I stayed in one of the suites, which was well equipped. Having a full fridge, stove top, oven and microwave were great to have! Internet was not great, but that's the norm for that whole area, so not specific to the Hebridean Motel. The place was super clean and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. The beds were comfy, and the AC was much appreciated with the hot weather. Can't wait to return!

Beaches, sunsets, friendly folk!!
Beaches, sunsets, friendly folk!! Near Mabou and the Red Shoe for music and dinners. As well as being on the Ceilidgh trail.
A great, quiet spot. Also went on a kayak trip with Alex MacKinnon which I highly recommend. Walked the boardwalk and the beach. It was beautiful and peaceful but lots to do!!

Since we have been here before, in a different hotel, we didn't need as much time and so one night was fine. It is a beautiful area and has many beaches, as well as being near some great kitchen parties etc. so a great location.

There are not a lot of restaurants that were open but the Clove & Hitch Bar and Bistro a block from our hotel was amazing. Lovely decor and delisious menu! We also took in the Glenora Distillery a half hour away for a tour and lunch.

I was stranded there due to weather, but it seems like a nice enough place. Apparently there are wonderful beaches nearby. What I did enjoy was the tail end of "Kitchenfest" a lesser-known celtic music festival, which is wonderful! Make sure to check out the Red Shoe Pub.
We were only stopping by on route to Halifax and this motel was far better than the previous chain hotel we stayed at. It was clean; both the property and utensils inside the unit. Property is older but you can see TLC. It is brightly coloured facade; you won’t miss it while driving. Its also a good walking distance to a beach boardwalk. Staff was also great and welcoming.
It is just very plain and very basic, and because of the location and there isn't many choices to stay in Port Hood, it gets the business. It was very slow getting our room key, and therefore there was a line up behind us (waiting outside).
I wouldn't have chosen to stay there otherwise. The view around is very nice, but none of the cabins really face the view.
Denise & Alain were great. The breakfast was excellent, homemade granola, bread & preserves. This is what made it so special and the love of a good B& B! Plus Alain played the fiddle and gave us a lot of history about Port Hood. Based on what he told us we explored the beaches, which were great and made us want to come back and spend more time!
Beautiful home! Host and hostess were very helpful and welcoming. Our room was lovely and the beds were super comfortable! Very clean and everything we needed. The hot breakfast provided was very good with a very nice variety of choices. Highly recommend and would stay there again if we’re ever back to Port Hood!
The staff, especially Lucy, was the very best. The breakfast was exceedingly good. Lucy is a very good cook. The room was clean, well furnished, and comfortable. Suites are also available. Sitting on the veranda looking across the sea at Port Hood island, made the Nova Scotia wine taste much better.
Absolutely lovely inn. We found Port Hood to be quiet and the perfect stay after our drive along the Cabot Trail. We loved our room, it was extremely clean and had all the charm that a B&B should. The breakfast was fantastic too, and we enjoyed the ambiance of the dining room in the morning.
The staff was great. They accommodated our request for early check in(130 pm instead of 3). We were in town for the Capes 100 the next morning. Room was QUIET! And there was a restaurant nearby for dinner. Convenient toMabou- 11 miles away. Close to all the beaches in Port Hood!
The inn is a nice old house in Port Hood with a spacious porch and front lawn with Muskoka chairs. The room is spacious and has what you need. Breakfast was buffet style with cereals, yogurt and toast. There was also a choice to have scrambled eggs and bacon.
Exceptionally clean! Hosts, Alain and Denise went above and beyond. Homemade bread, jams, fruit and an egg strata for b’fast. Alain presented an informative slide show of Cape Breton with suggestions for our travels. He also played the fiddle for us!
Francis and Catherine were the greatest hosts ever! The rooms were were spotless and the beds were super comfortable! Look no further when staying in Port Hood! You will leave feeling like family ; ) The location and view were perfect!
The hotel is close to the beach. Just a five minute walk to the boardwalk. Very quiet, even though it is located next to the main street. Check-in was fast. Rooms were very clean and beds comfortable.
Everything was top notch- the room, the bed and the bedding, the cleanliness of the room. The breakfast was out of this world. Enjoyed the little presentation on the history of Port Hood. Nice touch
Great location in Port Hood, Cape Breton.
Gracious hosts Alain and Denise.
Beautiful sunset we watched from the gazebo.
Fabulous breakfast accompanied by Alain's fiddle.
Comfortable room with bay view. Creative and tasty breakfast. Host presents new useful and entertaining info each day and played a Cape Breton tune on his fiddle.
Located along the west coast of Cape Breton, the view is lovely, my room was large and with an attached bathroom, and the hosts could not be more accommodating.
