Attentiveness of staff at restaurant and bar area. We were well taken care by everyone and we certainly felt very welcomed the moment we stepped into the hotel. Strongly recommend anyone to stay with them if you visit Donegal. You won't regret it and your stay will create a lasting memory for yourself. At least it did for us. Did not want to leave 😕

Donegal is a beautiful area, rugged and less crowded in April. Would highly recommend this area, particularly to people who like walking/hiking opportunities. Slieve League is a must and Glenveagh castle and gardens, which are open, are charming. Other attractions in the area are worth a visit.

North west Donegal has spectacular beaches without any doubt. There are far too many houses built on land that has sea views, this has to be ignored by any visitors.
The Fanad peninsula was the best place, not as developed.

Donegal is one of the loveliest parts of Ireland and always worth a visit, from the wild countryside to Errigal mountain and the rugged coastline. The people are very friendly and welcoming. This was a short visit, but I have been before and stayed longer.

O' Donnell castle or Donegal castle was the highlight of our stay, plus a visit to Slieve League, as it was raining so much we just travelled around in the care, taking in the views as we could. Donegal is a great County to visit but you need the sunshine to see it at its best. If you visit Ireland, Donegal is a must place to go. Tara Hotel in Killybegs is the place to have your meals, great food great staff.
Centrally located in downtown Donegal, close to everything! We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed the proximity to shopping, restaurants, and pubs. Our stay included St. Paddy’s weekend and there was no issue with noise and allowed to enjoy the festivities but still be able to take a break. Good base to explore the rest of the county, highly recommend! Also, the owners were very attentive and made sure our stay was good since we were the first guests to stay multiple nights. Slainte!
Good quiet cosy little bungalow, with everything you need for a wee self catering break away ,warm and quiet with the option of having a real fire it suited us perfectly as we were attending the harvest rally and didn't want to be in a hotel in town as parking is a nightmare, we fitted two cars into our yard easily ,situated just off the n56 killybegs road it offers easy access to donegal town ,the fishing port of killybegs and a great base for touring donegal County,
We loved the location, very peaceful and beautiful scenery. Easy drive into Donegal Town & close to beautiful beaches and walks.
Cottage was amazing with everything you would need for a long weekend / week away.
Loved that it was dog friendly so we could bring our pup! Beds comfy and all linen / towels provided.
Biddy O Barnes close by was fabulous, loved the breakfast offerings (Fri & Sat). We had dinner twice and loved our meals, Guinness perfect too!
We enjoyed our stay at Haywoods. The location was great; close to town. Beds were very comfortable. The host and hostess were delightful. They gave us great ideas on what to see and do during our stay in Donegal and we so enjoyed conversing with them. A very personable couple who accommodated our breakfast requests and offering us more food suggestions. The breakfast exceeded our expectations.
Harvey's Point is situated on the coast of the beautiful Lough Eske near Donegal. The view from our hotel room window was amazing. We only stayed there for one night but we had a great experience for the short time we've been there. We had dinner at the Bar & Terrace restaurant, the food was really good. After dinner, we sat at the bar for a couple of drinks.
The room was huge with a fireplace and sitting chairs. the bathroom was also large, clean, and had the best water pressure ever. The view of the main square in Donegal Town was great and there’s an amazing cafe a few stores down for breakfast called Blueberry Cafe. The double and single beds were nice to sleep in.
What an amazing location, just outside Donegal Town!
I had a few days away with my mum and two younger sisters and we booked the family room.
It was so comfortable and such a large room
Breakfast next morning was a feast and set us up for the day before we headed to the beach
Beautiful hotel. Room was massive. Extremely comfortable. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, gave us great suggestions to check out in the town. The Blas restaurant attached was phenomenal as well. Will definitely be back here next time I'm Donegal!
Our hostess was really friendly and helpful. It was so nice to have a choice of breakfast besides the full Irish breakfast which we had for the past two weeks. Comfortable room and a short drive to Donegal town and a great dinner at Biddy O'Barnes.
Spacious and extensively refurbished and remodeled rooms above an old traditional Irish bar.
Centrally located but very well soundproofed.
Main bus stop just steps away outside the Abbey Hotel
Highly recommended.
Great location in Donegal. Just a 10 minute walk to the local town for pubs, restaurants and shops. We unfortunately staying out of season, so a lot of places were closed. The hotel restaurant shut at 5pm. Free parking.
Beautiful hotel with lots of different relaxing areas.
staff were excellent at reception/pool and for breakfast dinner service.
fantastic location-3/4 mins walk from the town center- so quiet at night.
It was quiet, cozy, peaceful, had a great breakfast, and was my favorite place we stayed on our trip to Ireland. would stay here again absolutely if i'm lucky enough to come back to Donegal.
This property is a good value if you are looking for a quick stop in Donegal. It was quiet and a short walk into town. the owner has a restaurant in town that was very good.
Lovely big room and ensuite, 2 minute walk to town, comfy bed and lovely continental breakfast. Donegal was one of our favourite places on our quick tour of Ireland
The location was excellent - easy walk to town. Very clean, comfortable. Best nights sleep so far in Ireland. The host was extremely helpful and friendly.
