Salento is picturesque with colorful houses and beautiful interiors, located in the mountains and with a valley that is one of the main entrances to the high "nevados". Everything in Salento is about coffee, art, nature, birds and hiking. The best time to visit Salento is outside of the high season for a truly relax experience.

The cocora valley was closed on the 2 days we were there.
The cocora valley was closed on the 2 days we were there. This was the main reason we went and due to heavy rains or something along those lines, the road was damaged and not accessible by the Willy trucks. So everyone in line was turned away and told it was closed. Salento is very salesy - Filandia is a similar vibe with all of the painted houses but a bit less sales oriented. Would have stayed in Filandia and visited Salento for the day instead.
Coffee excursion was enjoyable.

Beautiful, colorful and lively town that preserves the architecture, traditions and flair of Colombia's coffee region. The place welcomes everyone , solo travelers, couples, families, etc. It offers a good variety of activities, ranging from strolling around the town to mountain trekking, from tours at coffee farms to fine handcrafts shopping, from dining traditional dishes to international cuisine. I recommend visiting this town to everyone.

I was pleased we chose to stay in Salento rather than at an outlying hacienda. Salento was very crowded with tourists/travelers but the town plaza was our favorite place to be in the mornings/evenings. Our two favorite restaurants were Juan Esteban (on the square) and Betatown. Both had very good food and service.

A cute, colourful town near the stunning Valle de Cocora, which is the main reason to visit. The coffee tours are a bit touristy, but it’s a good vibe. Be sure to play “tejos” and have a few beers at Los Amigos.
The hotel is super charming and authentic. Service was great, beds were comfortable and location was very convenient (outside of Salento's busy area but walking distance from the plaza ~10min).
The staff was super attentive. We engaged with Don Julio over whatsapp before arriving and he was super nice and helpful (i.e.: recommended a driver for airport service, horse back riding provider and coffee farm visits).
The views from the hotel are amazing.
The night campfire was a lot of fun for the kids and they got to see tons of fireflies!
What a fantastic gem in Salento! We loved our stay at the pink & blue Hotel El Jardin. The reviews were quite mixed but for us it was brilliant. We had a double room with a beautiful view. Particularly liked that all rooms have an outside table and chairs on the wrap around balcony. The decor throughout is fab & it was spotlessly clean throughout - loved the painted wall in the cafe/restaurant! Lovely breakfast freshly cooked. We had no issues at all with hot water in the shower, which other people mentioned on their reviews.
The location and the property were really great. It's a beautiful building with an enormous wraparound porch with beautiful views to the south and west. Also, the people who own and staff the place are really nice and there is a warm feel here. Also, great to have parking on site since the street situation in Salento can be pretty difficult.
Quiet place, close to but far enough away, from the bustle of downtown Salento. Great for people who want to be able to walk around town but don't want to be in the party.
The hotel was extremely charming, clean and well located, the staff was very friendly; the lady who served us the breakfast was a star. And Juan was beyond expectation, a very lovely young guy, who even took the time on his day off to organise some tours for us in Salento, and took us around the city. He really made our trip memorable. Big Thanks and looking forward to visit again.
Good breakfast options - fruit, cereal, oatmeal, bread, juice
Quiet, clean facility area as well as room. Away from the hectic part of town
Owner is responsive and helpful with planning things to do
Beautiful scenery view from the hotel and rooms.
Nice detailed info about the area, things to do, places to eat in the booklet in the room
It was a very nice boutique hotel with very pet friendly staff and grounds for well behaved pups. The shower and bathroom were large and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. The views were great. Not too many roosters near by. Location was good; less than 10 minutes to the central square of Salento. It was on the outer skirts of Salento.
The lodge for two people was quite nice. The bed was comfortable and it offers interesting environment. I enjoyed the showers outside with the nature. The staff is really kind and the breakfast offered is really good. The location is quite nice for Salento and visiting another towns in the area. The hotel experience is really good.
Pedro is a really great guy. He greets you warmly every time you run into him. I enjoyed practicing my Spanish with him while he practiced his English with me.
The location is convenient being outside the main core of Salento and also only a couple minute walk from the bus station. The dorm rooms are nice and clean.
Only problem was booking site says 1.7 km and it is further to Salento.. We had planned to walk each day but that was not possible. Had to pay for taxi or uber each time. Only other concern was noisy when a guest was in the next room . Could hear every word. Other than that this hotel is delightful.
The hotel is located 5 mins walk from central Salento in a quiet area so there was no noise and it was easy to sleep.
The breakfast was tasty and freshly prepared every morning
Room was big and modern
Staff was often absent from reception but replied quickly on WhatsApp
We are seasoned travelers and this was one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. The staff were warm and welcoming and made us feel like family. The room had an exceptional view of Salento. The courtyard garden made me happy and the breakfast was fantastic.
We really enjoyed our stay here in Salento. The apartment is perfect for a few people and has all the amenities you need. The location is fantastic as it was easy to walk anywhere in town and it was quiet. Plus, there are many cute cats around the neighborhood.
The hotel is very new and I absolutely loved the interior. Beds are comfortable and staff was super friendly. You can tell the owners have a great eye for detail. We loved to stay at Panorama Salento and would definitely stay there again.
Spacious room in colourful hotel. Location only 5 minutes walking to central Plaza Bolivar (where jeeps depart to Valle de Cocora, coffee plants, ...), with view on outer range of Salento. Friendly staff (although only Spanish speaking)
great location, it’s really close to the main plaza. the breakfast is amazing! The hotel is really safe, there is always someone at the desk. Really nice room with a little balcony and the staff is super helpful
Good location in a quiet area but still easy to walk to the town center. Free parking, decent wiki, great views from the breakfast area. Cheap compared to other hotels in Salento.
