Fantastic views and a lovely space to relax in. Well equipped to eat in if you choose to and watch a movie on their netflix, which was perfect for us when we arrived on a cold, wet late afternoon. Lovely fireplace, apartment warms up pretty well and the beds were nice and comfortable. It was a comfortable home away from home. Host was easy to communicate with. Parking at the front of the house made for easy access carrying our luggage up the stairs. I could have easily stayed here a night or two longer.

A Shack In The Woods, hotel in Port Renfrew

A Shack In The Woods offers pet-friendly accommodation in Port Renfrew. Free parking is onsite. There is a BBQ on a large covered enclosed deck. A fire pit is available on the property.

This is an awesome little getaway place. Very private. It is located on an estate with lots of cabins, cottages and houses on a hill. But this one is at a little trail, end of the road , surrounded by trees and shrubs, so very private. We were allowed to have our dog with us, without extra fee. The big deck is fully fenced and gated. It was so perfect for my dog to be outside. There is also a fire pit and firewood. The steller's Jay's came to visit us! The cabin is cozy, but not tiny! We felt very comfortable, enough room to play with my small dog too. The owner was friendly and answered questions quickly. The kitchen has everything to have some quick, easy meals. Heating is very effective. You can set the temperature by yourself. There is a PB backup fireplace. Big TV with Netflix and other streaming. You park right beside the entrance, very convenient. Entering is quick and easy, the key is in a locked box. I loved the owl theme. All kinds of things with owls on ☺️🦉

The town is beautiful and the surrounding beaches and parks...

The town is beautiful and the surrounding beaches and parks are outstanding! If you're planning an off-season visit, be aware that places don't open on regular hours or days. If you plan on eating in (at your stay) bring food from Victoria/Duncan etc. The Market has limited supplies and the staff was not too friendly. The evening staff at Coastal Kitchen Cafe seemed upset that we came in 50 mins to closing, and treated us like they had better things to do. Food was overpriced and not a good value.

Great place for relaxing and getting in contact with nature.

Great place for relaxing and getting in contact with nature. Be aware that the small town has only one little grocery store with limited open hours, also few options of restaurants, but an awesome place to relax.

Small town for a first time visit and mostly just one night stay. I'd come back in the summer time to do more outdoor activities. It's easy to get around Port Renfrew and everyone is friendly.

The best place to spend time with family and friends sitting around fireplace in nights or enjoying beautiful view from balcony. Contemporary furniture setup with and comfort combined with closeness to nature. We just love this place.

We drove to Port Renfrew from Duncan.

We drove to Port Renfrew from Duncan. Make sure you stop at the Tourist Information building and talk to a helpful staff person. We were given a map of the Marine Circle Route that was extremely helpful. The town is quaint and has breathtaking views. We had the delicious seafood chowder twice at the Renfrew Pub (excellent free wifi). There is little to no cell service, but wifi is surprisingly good.

Stayed in renfrew for one night, this is out second time coming to stay as we love it here. Botanical beach is amazing, so cool to walk around. Theres loads of hikes to do, there is also boat trips if you are interested. It is a very small place so you may not be able to get everything you need here so bring supplies. There is a general store a gift shop and a pub. The pub is pricey but the portions are incredible. You also need a car to come here as everything is fairly far.

The huts are fine, though they get hot overnight as there is not enough ventilation; it would be better if the front windows opened. Many folks complained about the shared bathrooms in the past but this does not seem to be a problem; even though the huts were all occupied we never had to wait at all, and the bathrooms were acceptably clean after a whole day of use. Having the cafe across the street was great - from the cabins in the parking lot you get their strong wifi signal and during our time they were on a Delta blues binge - nice!

We had the 2 bedroom lower unit, we still had a nice view despite this. We loved the patio and fireplace space as well. Excellent accommodations if you have a young child (provided high chair and pack and play and were flexible with check out). Bedroom space was comfortable, nice to have patio doors on both rooms. Good wifi and Netflix provided. we didn’t use but the option for laundry and dishwasher was a bonus. Nice proximity to botanical beach, sombrio and mystic.

Absolutely amazing. I do not have any complain about this place. This is possibly one of the best (if not the best) place to stay in Port Renfrew. I have stayed in other places but this is definitely the best price/quality wise. It felt so relaxing being in the patio with the garden heater on and using the grill. The bed and the sofa/bed were very good, and the cabin was fully equiped. Honestly I am looking forward to stay here again in my next trip to Port Renfrew

Spectacular apartment overlooking Port Renfrew Bay. It was quiet and private and close to Botanical Beach and Avatar Grove. Cooking facilities were excellent, and the cupboards were stocked with good spices. PR has limited grocery stores so buy your groceries ahead of time. It is off the grid, which is the charm, but has decent Wifi. The decor is predominantly wood, with many beautiful exotic woods. It was a pleasure to be in these surroundings.

An amazing location, breathtaking views 😍 The property is very clean, comfortable and decorated nicely. Although you don't meet the owner, they answe quickly to any question and the pre arrival instructions are very clear and helpful. The fire pit is a great thing when you wanna chill before bed. Don't forget to bring food and snacks with you. I even took star trails photography as it's in an amazing surrounding with no light pollution.

Amazing location, absolutely stunning chalet with everything you could need. Felt like home! We enjoyed the gas fire on the patio in the rain, and the next day a morning wood fire with our coffee. Just perfect. Went down to botanical beach and it was cold and rainy. Returned back to the chalet and enjoyed the fabulous soaker tub to warm up. thank you so much!

The hiker huts were perfect for a rest day before we started the West Coast Trail. We loved the Coastal kitchen and the Port Renfrew Pub! The views were amazing! We were able to store our backpacks until we could check in and that allowed us to explore Port Renfrew by foot.
