The owner was very nice and helpful, he speaks English very well, he showed us all facilities in the ryokan, so so impressed with his service. The ryokan also has a shuttle service to the bus station. I would give 100 score out of 10 to this ryokan.

Air-conditioned rooms feature a tatami (woven-straw) floor, on which traditional futon bedding is spread to sleep in. Amenities include an LCD TV, fridge, a safe and yukata robes. All rooms have a private toilet and washbasin, while bathroom facilities are shared. Green tea sets with snacks are provided. The private and public onsen were wonderful. They had a lot of variety for the dinner and breakfast. Everything was very clean. The best part was the very nice staff, especially during the meals. I’m terrible with names, but I especially appreciate the waiter who helped us who was originally from Nepal. There was also an older gentleman who made origami for our kids, but every person we me was super kind and genuine. It was also good that many of the staff spoke good English as my Japanese is very limited.

Main Dining Room "The Fujiya" serves French cuisine in an elegant space. Restaurant Cascade offers Western dishes, while Kikka-so serves traditional Japanese kaiseki dinners. A bar, lounge and bakery are available. Very well maintained. Beautiful hotel with rich history. Gardens are great. Staff very warm and welcoming. Good size rooms.
