The couple who runs the hostel is extremely friendly and welcoming. The husband picked me up at the airport. They were both able to offer me lots of information on things to do in Tarapoto and were always checking on me to see if everything is alright. We had yummy breakfast in the courtyard and watched monkeys play on the trees at the same time; they were very cute. The room was clean and even had air conditioner.

Located 400 metres from Mayor Tarapoto main square and 500 metres from the commercial area, Alojamiento El Mirador offers free Wi-Fi and breakfast in Tarapoto. The welcoming from the owners was at another level. They are just so kind and friendly! They helped me with everything, from getting a safe taxi to finding me good-priced tours and help with laundry. Do yourself a favor and stay with them. Also book your tours with them, good prices.
