The Guandi Family Temple is only a 10min walk from the property, very easy to reach and totally worth the visit. As for other tourism attractions although a bit far, the hotel can recommend drivers and the prices are acceptable.

We had an amazing time at Elsewhere Hotel. The hotel is located in the old city centre of Pingyao, and it is an old building in Chinese style. When we arrived, we had a warm welcome with a cup of tea. The staff is really friendly, and they speak English very well. I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a hotel with greater hospitality! The staff helped us with tickets for several attractions in the old city. We really recommend to stay at this hotel!

Jing's Residence is een verborgen juweeltje in de oude ommuurde stad Pingyao, die op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat. An amazing stay in central Pingyao Old Town. The hotel is very stylishly decorated (in contrast to many other cheesy ones in Pingyao. The room is spacious and the courtyard is nice and quiet. The breakfast is mostly homemade and delicious. The staff is super friendly and attentive. They treated us with tea upon arrival, then afternoon tea. They even remember we preferred whole meal bread from the previous day’s breakfast. It’s not a cheap place (given the general price level in China) but it’s a very memorable experience.

Het Pingyao Yide is gevestigd in een traditionele binnenplaats met een 300-jarige geschiedenis en biedt kamers in Chinese stijl met handgemaakte, mooie houten meubels en kunstwerken. Yide Hotel was incredibly beautiful and serene! The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. I emailed across my arrival train and they arranged (for a very small sum!) for me to be picked up- the same on the way back to Pingyaogucheng, which was immensely helpful. On the day I arrived I happened to get an upgrade on my room- can't be guaranteed, but was great. The breakfast was delicious- I had a lovely tea, scrambled eggs and toast. There were many more options and it was unlimited in how much you had! They gave me a useful map and talked me through the top sites to see. Overall a brilliant stay.
