A fantastic experience from when we walked in the door - Met by the friendliest staff I have experienced to date and a bonus was the room being upgraded at no charge - The facilities have been upgraded and renovated to a beautiful modern look and the breakfast was exceptionally good - The Incredible gardens are meticulously maintained - I honestly did not expect such a great stay - I wish I had booked longer!

This was one of our best stays we ever had. The entire team was committed and dedicated to their guest. One feel so happy and treated as valuable guest who is more than welcome. Thus, I can highly recommend this lovely guesthouse with a private atomosphere. The money you will spend is absolutely justisfied. We will definitely try to come back.

There is nothing negative to say about our stay in Wilderness, other than I wish it could have been for longer! Our accomadation at Tranquil Shores, was simply perfect. The beaches and views from the top of Hoekwil or Map of Africa are too beautiful. The nature walks and general magical feeling of the place makes it an ideal holiday destination. It is close to the large town of George and Knysna with markets available on Saturdays,
You would need a car to get around Wilderness.

One of the most stunning (and our favourite) beaches in the World.
Plenty of good restaurants - great value.
Loved the view from para gliding site but Map of Africa did not meet expectations.
Very restful / having had busy 3 weeks beforehand.
Restaurants - Las salinas; girls 👧 n the square; joplins steak house; pommodoro - all excellent and good value. Las S was our favourite; walking distance; good food and excellent service.

We stayed three nights in Wilderness and that was probably the perfect length of stay. It's a small town, but a very beautiful location. The long beach is nice, if you like that sort of thing. However, exploring the lagoon on an 'eco-cruise' is a 'must' and probably the most enjoyable adventure on our three-week stay in South Africa. Wilderness is also blessed with some good restaurants, 'The Girls On The Square' deserves an accolade, but 'Serendipity' is in a league of its own - one of the best restaurants I've visited anywhere in the world.

This is an amazingly clean and beautiful property.
This is an amazingly clean and beautiful property. It has a lovely pool with sunbeds and seating area to rear of property and the front of the property overlooks the most stunning beach. Little extras in the room make it absolutely fabulous. The hosts are extremely welcoming and friendly as is the family dog Duke. Would highly recommend.
A comfortable, spacious apartment overlooking the Indian Ocean. Peaceful, rural location in the hills above Wilderness town.. Kitchen is well equipped. Gas water heater and gas stove, so you can still shower and cook during load shedding. Comfortable bed with plenty of blankets during winter. WIFI worked well. Appreciated having Netflix for movies in the evening. The host, Darryl, is very friendly and helpful. He clearly loves where he lives and had lots of great suggestions for hikes/walks in the area.. Recommended.
What an amazing relaxing stay in the Wilderness right on the lagoon for swimming, canoeing, bird watching and close to the beach, hikes, restaurants, all adventure activities and the well equipped little Spar.
We loved our excellent, comfortable and super clean accommodation in our well equipped self catering suite. The best was the very friendly and helpful hosts, Nadia and Gert who couldn't do enough to help us with anything we needed, even an early check in.
This home on the beach is splendid! My wife and I booked a weekend there, and loved the cozy atmosphere, and natural wonder just outside our door. If you're looking for a place to enjoy the beach with your family, this is it.
Everything you may need was provided in the home, and our host Nora was the most lovely, interesting person.
Being encapsulated in nature but also a stones throw away from wilderness centre , the two top rooms were beautiful and comfortable with great views of the Indian ocean and dunes. great having the entire place to yourself with all the facilities and conveniences of a home but with the luxury touches of a hotel.
