A lovely clean little town located about a 2hr drive from Cape Town. Blown away with how well maintained the town is, with lots of little browsy type shops, coffee shops and restaurants. We didn't have time to hike but the trails looked great. Friendly locals. Located near to some wine farms as well.

Everything was lovely.
Everything was lovely. Excellent service, good facilities for kids. Children enjoyed the pools and play park. The astro turf for mini soccer and tennis courts are well maintained. The games room was not available for use due to a function, this was not ideal as it is part of the Montagu resort experience.and should always be open to its residents. The accommodation was reasonably comfortable and clean. The villa we stayed in is a bit dated. Generators should be used during loadshedding. All in all, a wonderful experience. I will definitely keep going back.

One of the most beautiful towns in South Africa, with mountains all round the views are beautiful throughout the year. The town has enough shops and restaurants for locals and tourists, but not so much that it becomes crowded (although I haven't been there during peak season). A good fusion between winelands and Karoo.

Montagu is a beautiful, clean and safe town.
Montagu is a beautiful, clean and safe town. We went for school rugby so did not get much time to spend sight seeing, but really enjoyed the natural beauty and friendliness of the towns' people. We had dinner at Mitchell's Pub and Grill....truly some of the most value for money and tasty rump steak I have had a very long time.

Beautiful old Cape town with many original buildings and points of interest. A walking tour around the town is pleasant as long as you steer clear of the main street and its surrounds, which are very shabby.
There are many choices of venue to have a meal if you are not fussy about food, but for fine dining you should try the Montagu Country Hotel's Charleston Restaurant.
The perfect hotel is right in the centre of Montagu. The staff are amazing and the attention to detail was perfect. Amike was so very helpful, booking us into a restaurant for each of the 2 nights we stayed with them. My wife and I are vegan and Amike made sure the restaurants were able to accommodate us (and we didn't ask her to do this, she did so on her own accord). Almond milk was placed in our fridge and a vegan breakfast was available in the morning. Amazing :) - this is the 2nd time we have stayed here and we will keep coming back.
Its really a beautiful setting. Surrounded on all sides by mountains. And on farm you feel very much in country. But montagu only 10 minutes out if you need something from shops.
Pool area is lovely and i like the idea of honesty bar and pizza oven, although we didn't use this time round. Also enjoyed the outdoor shower.
Really nice touch of getting bread on arrival and very nice home made cookies.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves
We stayed one night at Vineyard Montagu, we were lucky enough to meet the owner of the hotel who was very lovely and super friendly.
As we were there on a Sunday the owner had kindly prebooked us a table at the only restaurant open in town. Which was super thoughtful and greatly appreciated as we hadn’t even though about it!
The grounds, vines and gardens were lovely as was the out building for breakfast.
I have stayed in many guesthouses around the world and J's Audacious Living in Montagu is right up there with the best of them. For self catering accommodation it doesn't get any better - the kitchen was immaculate and equipped better than almost anywhere else I have stayed. The bedrooms were pristine and the living area open and spacious with even an indoor braai to shelter from the chilly autumn weather.
Nice clean and comfortable room, TV with many different channels, pamphlets with information about Montagu. Coffee making facilities, fridge and microwave oven in room and access to house kitchen for cooking if necessary. Very good location with historical buildings all within walking distance.
Just outside of Montagu in a little valley/gorge which is very quiet, secluded and boasts with beautiful views all around. We really enjoyed being offline since there is no cellphone reception. The chalet has a well equipped kitchen and is perfect for self catering and braais/barbecues.
Everything. Beautiful location. Very exotic. The pools are beautiful and well maintained and clean. The staff are very friendly. It was really lovely returning to Montague Springs. My kids love the place and can’t wait for our next visit.
Self catering cottage, with the most incredible sweeping views, of the farm and mountains. All the Bells and whistles included - e.g:wood for the fireplace, kitchen with all the utensils needed. Clean and tidy.
Everything about Olive stone farm is perfect and well thought out ,the attention to detail is excellent. even though your central to Montagu you feel like your in a rural location . really beautiful
The location and setting are unbeatable, and the hosts make you feel truly welcome. The gardens are immaculate with numerous areas to relax and soak up the lovely gardens and surrounding scenery.
Beautiful surroundings in nature. Great facilities (braai with wood supplied, swimming pool, lapa, walking trail etc.). Warm hospitality with complimentary farm bread and cookies provided.
A small farm feeling in the heart of Montagu
Beautiful and safe setting.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable.
Excellent breakfast.
Owners were extremely helpful and friendly.
Very nice and comfortable room!
The garden is gorgeous and the set up is just perfect to stay and visit Montagu and the area.
It was amazing thank you!
