VR Rotorua Lake Resort, hotel in Mourea

VR Rotorua is enriched in ethnic history. It is at this location where the First Māori settlement was established in the region by Ihunga and his dog.

The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable. Had the disability room which is perfectly located by restaurant, reception, carpark etc. So peaceful and relaxing with stunning view over lake. But the absolute highlight is the amazingly attentive and friendly staff who were welcoming and friendly. Make sure to book the inclusive breakfast - divine.

Great location - away from the bustle of Rotorua - but just a quick drive to get into town. Super close to the amazing Okere Falls cafe and lovely bush walk. Easy access to zip lining, sledging and white water rafting. Relaxing space, and a little less sulphur smell than other areas around the lake.

I loved the nature and surrounding lake and canals. Good for people with boats and who want to get away from populated areas. If needing food supplies bring with you as the restaurant on site works according to bookings (eg not all day /all the time). Very enjoyable site to relax and enjoy the pool, nature and gym onsite though.

This place was amazing we were spoilt for choice for swimming spots had the lake, the river (right at our front door) and the amazing pool. We had an amazing dinner at the restaurant w views of the river and watched sunset over the lake it was amazing. I had little ones so I was on high alert for water safety but big kids were in heaven. This place really felt like I was overseas away from hustle and bustle and felt like a resort in fiji

When I booked the room, it shown the free breakfast were included. When we checked in and had the breakfast, we were told only 1 person was free and another peroson was charged $30. Also when I requested the kitchen to heat up our lunch with midrowave, a guy told me he was very busy and we had to wait for 30 mins. That s bad

Lovely view of the lake from the room with many swans and other birds calling. A calming pleasant view of lake and hills. Close to some nice walks and a short drive to an excellent cafe and waterfalls. (The short drive to Okere Falls is worth it for the falls and for the Cafe / Store / Beer garden! The food is great, coffee fantastic, and they had the biggest selection of craft beers in their fridge I have ever seen) A couple of small general supply shops within walking distance of the hotel including a takeaway place.

The bed was so comfortable. The view of the lake from our room was awesome. Dinner in the house restaurant was world class. The open fire in the restaurant was beautifully comforting on a cold rainy winters night. The housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful The story boards in the hallways, of the hotels Māori history were brilliant and very important information for guests to know. I will stay here again and highly reccomend to others.

This hotel is on a gorgeous location on the lake. It's plush and kind of old-timey. The beds - we wanted to put them in our bags and take them home with us! There's a sauna and spa outside, by the pool, it's just beautiful. Breakfast was included - always a bonus! - and was delicious. Thank you, I hope to be back!

Customer service was the best I've ever experienced at a hotel. Very high level of service, especially as the hotel was at capacity and they seemed to be little short staffed. Location is amazing! The restaurant was great, as was the buffet breakfast. Location is amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone.
