Perfect location! Pub across the street but the room was still quiet. Walking distance to all the shops and train station. Breakfast included and the owners actually work there. Wish I stayed longer.

We loved the large room with the sitting area, since we were here for a week. We loved looking out our three front-facing windows onto the little street below, the canal, the bridge over the canal and a small park on the other side of the canal.
The bed was very comfortable, and they staff was friendly and helpful.

The old city of Leiden is beautiful and full of energy...
The old city of Leiden is beautiful and full of energy wherever you go. In June it gets dark at about 10.30pm, so you have plenty of time to visit and see places all over the town. To my experience, I think that 3 days (or 2 and a half days) are enough to visit the most important places and enjoy life in Leiden.

Beautiful old city with excellent bus and rail services only...
Beautiful old city with excellent bus and rail services only 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Plenty museums to visit and the oldest university in the Netherlands, Botanical gardens and Rembrandt's home and studio. Canal cruises and cycle hire to explore the outer part of the city. Plenty places to eat. We tended to eat at the restaurant near the hotel. Ideal location to visit both Delft and the Hague from. Would hope to return again. I travelled with 18 members of my family and stayed in the Rembrandt Hotel. Everyone thought Leiden was an excellent location to visit Keukenhof, Delft and the Hague from.

Great town and central to day trips all over the Netherlands...
Great town and central to day trips all over the Netherlands. Much more pleasant than staying in Amsterdam and only a short 20 minute train ride directly to Schiphol Airport. Could not be more convenient and relaxing.

Leiden is a great place to stay.
Leiden is a great place to stay. It’s like staying in a mini Amsterdam without as many people. Lovely canals to walk around and lots of small individual places to eat. Very peaceful to stroll around with a lovely market held on Saturday and Wednesdays. We took one of the walking tours around the town which you can buy at the local tourist information office. Also enjoyed going up the Windmill, but be prepared for a steep climb down. Well worth a visit!

Lovely city to walk in.
Lovely city to walk in.
All the people we met and staff in bars and hotel were helpful and friendly.
Sadly only had time for one visit - to Hortus Botanicus- which was well worth the time.
Would plan to visit again.
I chose the hotel based mainly on its location in the first place because it's very near to the train station as I came from Hamburg and back. On the other side I took the "Keukenhof Express from the station and back, so it was really a piece of cake! The hotel is very elegant, I liked the purple dominant colour in the hotel as it is one of my favourite colours. I liked the room very much! Also the hologram on the floor in front of the elevators was very interesting and new!
A romantic historical building with steep wooden, squeaky stairways leading to the room. Big comfortable bed. Spacious bathroom with a bathtub. Very friendly and attentive staff. When my room was ready for me, my luggage was already in my room! Breakfast was served on a wooden plank which was nice. Btw, you can borrow an umbrella at the hotel. Should I revisit Leiden, I´ll definitely stay at Steenhof Suites.
Good value and excellent location near train station. Location was walkable to everything in Leiden. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast with hot and cold selection. Comfortable, light and large lobby. They stored our luggage after checkout while we toured before a late train. Two large grocery stores next door, Aldi and Jumbo.
The hotel has a lot of character. Staff were pleasant. Our room had a beautiful water view. The hotel is conveniently located in the center of Leiden, with many restaurants and shops nearby. It's about a fifteen minute walk from the train/bus station. The bed was large and comfortable.
Great location. The hotel was near to the train station and the bus terminal where the bus would directly take us to the Keukenhof gardens.
The staff at the restaurant was kind enough to prepare a table for three although we did not make a reservation in advance.
Lovely hotel, in an old townhouse in central Leiden but not too central (away from the party boats!), on a fairly quiet side street. Nicely decorated and the most comfortable bed I've slept in in a long time! Self check-in and in-person check-out were both easy.
Nice hotel in a traditional building, a lot of daylight came through the room so it made it very pleasant. There is a fridge and a small table in the room so we could use them during our stay. The hotel was not too far from Leiden train station too by walking.
Great location and good value for money. Not the luxorious type of hotel but perfect location and decent accomodation with plenty of restaurants and sightseeing locations within walking distance. Just 6 minutes walking from Leiden Central Station!
The hotel has just been opened. Therefore the hall is still under construction, but the room was super, new clean with all comforts. The hotel is 200 mt from Leiden main square and opposite the station, therefore, in a super comfortable location.
The boutique hotel is located in the most picturesque part of Leiden; situated in a 200 year old building; near musea, the Botanical Gardens, entertainment.
The interior is modern and tasteful.
The staff is attentive, kind and most helpful
This hotel is a gem, wonderfully situated close to the station but within walking distance of the old center, The Tulip hotel has access to all the benefits of the Golden Tulip, excellent food and charming and friendly staff.
Sparkling clean suite with a comfortable bed in a brand new hotel, well stocked kitchenette, great location, and friendly and helpful staff. We would stay here again if we are in Leiden again.
Really nice, clean and quiet hotel in a beautiful street next to a canal. Staff was really friendly and professional. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to stay in Leiden.
Classic Van der Valk hotel, a bit dated but still nice and tidy with a comfortable bed.
Location is ok, food was fine. Next to a bus stop to Leiden (except when the bus is cancelled).
the comfy bed was great. The hotel is very centrally located in Leiden and has access direct to the station. Despite the closeness to the station it was very quite in the room.
Fantastic location, walk from train station, in historic part of Leiden. Lovely, well-appointed room, all the conveniences. Enjoyed the breakfast in the pretty breakfast room.
I love the Golden Tulip. The reception staff are fantastic, so friendly and helpful. Checking in and out is so efficient. The hotel is comfortable and the location is perfect
Location in the center of Leiden is very convenient, staff is friendly and competent. Though the entrance of the hotel is hard to find, as well as the reception.
Nice hotel, very cosy room, location was very good, close to train station, restaurants, town center. Very comfortable bed, the staff was very helpful.
