Romneys Apartments & Suites, hotel in Kendal

Romney’s Self Catering Apartments and Snugs attached to a Gastro Pub & Restaurant in Kendal offer well-appointed self-catering accommodation in picturesque Cumbria.

The property was beautiful spotlessly clean. We checked in and left our bag in the room and had a drink in the pub garden. Unfortunately we then got a call stating my mother had fallen so had to return home and didn’t actually stay in the end

Kendal is sometimes an overlooked gem of a town, with many interesting places to visit with historic interest & a hive of culture. We especially enjoyed the ease of getting to the Brewery Arts Centre for a concert & all on offer there. Being into 'real ale', the Factory, was a valuable find, near to the river. (Nice pizza on a Friday evening too!) A haven for dog owners! We visited the Art Gallery, had coffee/tea there & were spoiled for choice at the cakes for sale. Friendly staff there & an very interesting selection of modern art, photography & traditional art. Recommend a walk up to the castle for a wonderful vista of the area. Great connections by bus to the southern lakes & western lake district too.

The town of Kendal is great and this flat is well located to access the town centre etc. I was disappointed with my accommodation as a very poorly equipped kitchen, poor water pressure in kitchen sink, tacky decor and bizarre unintelligible smart door handles.

Most places where closed on Sunday, nice views, not much parking for vans as they have hight bars on most carparks. Castle Geen Hotel was worth the stay. Plenty of placed to eat in town taxi prices are fair. Everyone seems friendly

Kendal has lots to offer visitors and is an ideal place to stay, away from the crowds in the central Lakes. Lots of walking accessible by good public transport, avoids taking the car and trying to find somewhere to park. Plenty of shops and places to eat, especially Corner 124 where you can enjoy an excellent meal.

The hotel is lovely and very close to Kendal, with lovely decor. We had an evening meal, which was a little pricey but gorgeous. The service was slow, as the wine was brought when we were half way through the meal and a sauce we asked for never materialised. There was a wedding so unfortunately we could not sit out on the balcony, which was a shame as it was a lovely evening. Breakfast was only warm but very nice, but again the service was a little slow. Our tea and toast only arrived when we were half way through our cooked meal.

We were looking for somewhere modern, yet cosy for our family of 4 for the period in between Christmas and the New Year and this property was great! Super modern, clean and the little touch's such as complimentary Kendal Mint Cake in each room along with other complimentary items made it that extra special. This is a great location for visiting Lake Windermere and other surrounding areas which are all equally as beautiful. Also lots of restaurants/pubs around in short walking distance which is great. Would highly recommend.

Easy location to get to as its just of the m6, great that it’s got a McDonald’s right next door open 24/7 and the view of the lake each morning was beautiful, staff was very pleasant on arrival and very helpful when I accidentally locked myself out the room (oops😅) Ideal place to stay for a night or two maximum if your just passing through or wanting just a place to refresh and sleep when exploring the surrounding areas (we only stayed for two nights and had day trips out to Yorkshire dales, Kendal and Windermere.

We had an amazing stay at Arthur’s Cottage - our host allowed us to check in early as we had a wedding to attend and they made this so much easier and stress free. During our stay we had a massive snow storm and got our car stuck in Windermere - our host checked in with us to check if we were okay and offered a late check out until we could get sorted. We would book again anytime if we need to be in Kendal again. Apartment was very clean and heating was on for us when we arrived. Perfect location. Great experience.

There is a great deal to like about Stonecross Manor, which is full of character, relatively recently refurbished and has the most wonderful, very welcoming staff. For me, the staff were the hotel’s greatest asset. I felt the hotel offered very good value for money. The location met my needs very well, though it is a little way out of Kendal, which may not suit everyone.

The owners could not have been friendlier and Richard was brilliant at giving suggestions of things to do in the area. The room was spotless and very comfortable and the breakfast really set me up for the day each morning. The B&B is within a short walk of the bus station, which is great if you don't have a car. I would definitely recommend this place!

Room we stayed at (room one) was beautiful!! Really exceeded our expectations. Hotel was lovely and so was the decor, the horses next door was an added bonus! Very near Kendal town and only a short drive to Windermere. Food was good, slightly expensive for what it was and was hoping for a more al a carte menu but happy either way.

The location was very handy to get into town or travel to supermarkets Sainsbury, Morrisons the retail park next to it. The room was nice and clean by the cleaners. Great view over the river looking onto the bridge towards Kendal Town centre. I have stayed here last year with friends. Who also enjoyed their stay at the hotel.

The parking, although available was not suitable for my car but parking was 300 metres up the road and we'll priced. I just wimped out seeing the narrowness of the tunnel. Room compact but some lovely extra touches. Will book again as have family in Kendal. Nice pub attached too.
