From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and very helpful. There is secure parking in an underground car park with a lift direct to all floors.
The room was spacious, beautifully decorated and with lovely views.
The well appointed bathroom included a bath.
The bar and dining room are stylishly decorated and with gorgeous large flower arrangements - it all creates a very luxurious environment.

Bouillon is a small town with a lot of vacant stores and houses. The small centre has a limited number of restaurants and drinking establishments. The higher parts of the town are dominated by hotels, and of course the famous fort. Of course, the fort is the highlight of the town and a great location to visit for a day or two, including a fun birds of prey show.

Great city in a great historic environment.
Great city in a great historic environment. Magnificent castle, woods and river.
But city infrastructure needs improvement badly.
Some things give impression that local municipality does not care at all.

A town that I suspect has seen its glory a couple of decades ago. Yet still full of lovely brasseries and tea rooms and shops and of course bieres ! Walking along and sitting with a view of the river is an experience I want to repeat. These Belgian towns by the river, like Dinant and Bouillon are just what my sould needs.

Nothing was open as per their schedules on brochures, signs and on-line. All the sights now have a communal ticket, but only one facility was open in the time we were there, and even that one waited until after we had paid to tell us they closed in an hour. Also (not the facility's fault, but they had apparently approved it ...), there was a musician on the site filming a music video who berated us for walking through the shot, even though we had no way of knowing that filming was ongoing - also asked us to wait to continue our tour, in spite of the fact that we had been told by the admission agent to hurry. Missed the bird show, which we weren't expecting to see because the website said it wasn't even taking place due to Corona. Altogether a waste of money . a disappointment that we couldn't see anything we paid for.
- very nice and friendly owner
- peaceful and beautiful surroundings
- rustic and nicely organized apartment
- beautiful well as a table in the kitchen
- very comfortable bed with nice hard materace (our preference)
- it is warm inside, the heating does a good job
- a lot of space for a small child to crawl around
- located in a amazing mountain valley very close to Bouillon
Located in the heart of Bouillon, we had an amazing stay at the loft. Sophie is a very warm and welcoming host who is always available for any question. The loft was really clean and has everything you need. The views are amazing, the castle on the one hand and Bouillon on the other. It is everything you need when going to Bouillon!
Golden Lion is certainly atypical place, so some people who prefer more convenient places might find some things unusual
But I like the atypical boutique hotel and bed and breakfasts so for me the place is just perfect.
Little onsite library of old books and exhibition of local artists adds a charm.
A beautiful hotel with welcoming staff and a lovely friendly dog!
The room was superb, the bed was huge and comfy.
I didn’t eat dinner at the hotel but the breakfast buffet was at right, with plenty of options. Perfect to set someone up for a long day exploring!
The location, the facility, the view.. We missed nothing there. Perfect place to visit Bouillon and neighborhood. Easy parking. Close to restaurants. The kitchen is equipped for group of 6-7 persons. We really enjoyed our stay there.
Henry and Valerie are wonderful people that will do absolutely everything to make your comfortable. They have several ideas and leaflets to help plan your trip and Bouillon and its environs offer a lot more than what might think.
Very attractive old house, beautifully renovated, in the amazing Ardennes. Also very close to Bouillon and its famous castle. The owners were very friendly and helpful, even offering to look after our dog while we went kayaking.
Magnificient view of the city and the castle. Typical, traditional ardennes and family run hotel with very friendly staff and attention to detail. Good restaurant and amenities! Perfect stay as a couple or family with kids.
Right in the middle of Bouillon, on the Semois river. Elegant old-world hotel bringing back memories of how it was to travel when service and style was in fashion. Private parking under the hotel. We will be back!
Very nice location, and although located in the center of Bouillon, a very quiet place.

The hotel is charming by its history and the location is simply unbeatable, within walking distance to almost all the must-sees in Bouillon. Parking on site is also very convenient.
As Australians travelling a bit off the beaten track it was great to have a bilingual host to guide us, enabling us to see what Bouillon had to offer. Well worth a visit!
