The whole feel of the fox and bounds was beautiful.
The beautiful lady who checked us in seen that for some reason our room we booked had been changed and downgraded from a twin room with sea view to a queen room. I told her it was no issue as we are happy to share a bed, she clicked away for a couple minutes and upgraded us to a family room with 2 queen rooms, loungeroom and kitchen at no charge extra charge.
She was absolutely beautiful to deal with.
We had a delicious dinner there and all the staff were super accommodating and friendly and happy to have a chat.
The beds were comfortable, our room was quiet.
We had heard a few days Prior from others that they used to have a bad reputation but had new owners in the last year so couldn't comment what it was like now but prior they would not have recommended to stay there.
I can definitely recommend staying, it was such a kind gesture to upgrade us after there was an issue with our room being downgraded for unknown reasons. We absolutely appreciated such a small gesture that made for 2 beautiful nights of sleep which was well needed.

The cottage was very cosy and well-equipped. We had everything we need! Rod was an exceptional host. We have thoroughly enjoyed our tour on his farm which he has kindly taken us twice to during our stay! My child loves the farm and was so sad when we had to leave.

This property was beautiful, clean and inviting. The Stargazing tent was stunning, exceptionally clean and had all items to provide a comfortable holiday. The Bbq was very clean, the outdoor bath sensational. Kitchen items clean and enough to utilise for meals. The bathroom amenities were lovely. The fireplace and air conditioner kept it warm and snug. Laundry facilities were on point. It was June when we stayed so we didn't utilise the whole park itself due to the cold, but was spectacular as we drove in and out.

The actual Convict area is simply amazing as are the free talks that occurred during the day. We were not fully prepared for the lack of outlets for food, lack of super market, restaurants etc. The one good out let offered a range of take away food but not good!

The historic site is magnificent and well managed. The general store is very disappointing, you should not rely on it if you are self catering
Gabriel's, the restaurant by the beach , was excellent I recommend it.
The restaurant at the Port Arthur motel featured poorly trained staff who seemed unaware of what service means. My girlfriend was served lukewarm seafood chowder with both the spoon and the garlic bread partially submerged. She asked for the chowder to be properly heated, this was seemingly done in a microwave. It was then returned with the same soggy bread.

Couldn't get into ghost tours or 1830 restaurant.. they were closed. Tried to get helicopter flight.. left message but never responded. Only 1 decent restaurant but the meals a bit light on considering price point and didn't seem to serve full meal. Loved the unzoo.

The Port Arthur area is beautiful, with glorious scenery and friendly people. The restoration of the Port Arthur Historical Site and the emphasis on truth versus “fairytale fantasy” does a great deal to enhance its appeal. It is not the miserable place that Australian historical literature has traditionally portrayed it as, but we discovered that it was, in fact, a combination of both progressive and regressive measures to reform prisoners. This is made clear by the information available. The staff are very responsive to visitors’ needs and questions, and literally go out of their way to help. Staff were always around everywhere on the grounds, and there was no shortage of help available. One example of this was when we were walking up towards the Soldier’s Memorial Avenue, and a chap driving a buggy asked if we wanted a lift. He then took us on a short, personalised tour of the entire grounds, answering the many questions we had and clarifying what we’d heard (thank you so much). Also, on our walking tour, I discovered I had not booked a time for the harbour cruise, so after we’d finished, our tour guide took the time to ring Reception and get us on the next cruise. The guided tours vary, however, according to personal knowledge and the sometimes political stance of the guides.

We didn't visit the Port Arthur historic site this time as we've been before, but if you've not ever been we would recommend that you do.
Our accommodation was a short walk to Stewarts Bay Beach, the local shops and the Pennicott wilderness cruises office. We loved walking at Safety Cove Beach, which is a very short drive from Port Arthur - a great crescent of white sand backed by trees, where you are often the only people there. As you drive there, the view across the water to the cliffs and sea stacks is fabulous, and you also get glimpses into the Port Arthur site grounds.
Loved, loved, loved Ruby’s Cottage! The location is perfect for Port Arthur and the views from the farm stay are just spectacular.
The cottage is so cosy and quaint but with all the ammenities you would need. The beds were really comfy and the fireplace made it such a cosy place to stay.
Kim and Rod were perfect hosts along with their gorgeous dogs and curious sheep!
I cannot recommend this place enough and it’ll definitely be on my go to list the next time I’m in Tasmania.
Viv has set up a beautiful accommodation in lovely part of Tasmania. It is spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and had everything you could need and one of the best breakfasts we've had. Plus new bread and biscuits. Copious amounts of information about the local area Anya detailed folder on how all the utilities work. Viv was a lovely and helpful hostess. This place has everything you need and more. Thanks for a lovely stay, Viv. We highly recommend a stay here.
Our room had excellent view of the river. Room was spacious for a family of three. Staff was helpful & friendly. We had dinner at the restaurant. The service was excellent & the food was great! It was an excellent meal. Hotel is conveniently located which is only a short drive away from Port Arthur Historical Site & Cape Raoul. Location is quiet with good shower and ample parking space.
The cottage was extremely well positioned in Port Arthur and every convenience to make our stay comfortable had been thought of. It really made our day to have a tour of the farm and meet the highland cows, and we’re very appreciative to the hosts for giving us their time to show us around.
For newbies to Port Arthur, there is no township as such. Basically just pick something and go with it. This hotel met the needs and would easily accommodate family of 5 - provided a bed and had dinner on site. Potable water to cabins, but water bottles provided, so all good there.
We love our stay. The cottage was clean and tidy. Amenities are modern and looks like a hotel quality. Direction to the cottage was clear and easily reached by car. The host was friendly and glad to took us for a tour of their farm.
Stunning view as you walk into your room. Very family friendly. staff were great! location was just a 5minute drive to Port Arthur site. The food at the restaurant was delicious. Would definitely stay again.
Very convenient to Port Arthur.
Unit was clean and comfortable.
Although we didn’t cook the kitchen had everything that was needed.
Motor Inn a hop skip and jump away had excellent meals.
The property was in an absolutely gorgeous location, right on the water with a view of the Port Arthur Historic Site. The property was really comfortable.
