I was so worried about getting there as I was a solo woman traveler but it’s pretty straight forward and locals where very helpful. Don’t expect to have service if you don’t have a local sim being that you’re so close to Guatemala. The hosts were spectacular! I felt very welcomed and at home. The fried fish from their restaurant directly from the lake is delicious and the beans cooked in a pot were just as great. The rooms were spacious and the balconies facing the water made waking up at the crack of dawn enjoyable. Always had hot water available when showering, rooms were clean, and cool!
