We chose Ukee as a cheaper alternative of Tofino and did not regret it. The Inn is directly in the harbour which gives a nice view in the evening. The light house trail is super nice and sunsets are worth a visit there. The room was super big with two big comfortable beds.
Ucluelet Aquarium is 3 minutes’ drive from this non-smoking Ucluelet property. Free WiFi is included. Spring Cove views are offered.

It was a weird 3 story building on the outside of town with no elevator…and we were on the 3rd floor. There was a nice outdoor sitting area but not a lot else. That said, when we opened the door to the room, we were in a state of shock. It was one of the nicest accommodations we’ve stayed in. It was beautifully decorated with very comfortable furnishings- we had a lovely seating area with 2 recliners, an electric fireplace and TV. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was great. It was all spotless and clean and we really enjoyed staying at the Pacific Rim Guest Lodge (not to be confused with the Pacific Rim Motel in town!).
Just 5 minutes’ walk from the Ucluelet Aquarium, Ukee Peninsula Motel offers guest rooms with a microwave and a refrigerator. A restaurant and a bar are located on site.

Ukee is a great little town.
Ukee is a great little town. Although we bought a piece of art there, it offers much wilderness than shopping opportunities.
In addition to its unpretentious charm, Ukee offers a more pocket-friendly experience than its neighbour, Tofino, in our experience (although everything is more expensive here than the rest of Vancouver Island.)
However, both places have incredible beaches and forests, and bookend the National Park with a trail between the two towns.
Just be warned that the last part of the highway is an adventure before you decide to turn left to go to Ukee or right to go to Tofino.
I loved driving it with my "Mario Andretti" mindset, which wasn't that pleasant for my husband, LOL.
It's windy, narrow, and bumpy in parts, and if you have a slow poke in front of you (which we had on the way back), it can be incredibly frustrating.

I loved Ucluelet a whole lot more than Tofino, it isn't as touristy and "plastic", like the difference between Banff and Jasper, I always prefer the place closer to nature. Maybe doesn't have all the sandy beaches, but one can easily drive to it. I'd love it if the information about the length of the walks to beaches etc. were more clear, even on the hike, like where we are now and how long to go etc. Beauty in abundance, I loved every minute of it, I remembered it from 10 years ago and it was even better now. I'd love to come back for more and be able to just sit and listen to the ocean. Please, please don't let it become Tofino where you can't enjoy what rightfully belongs to the public without paying more than you can afford! I love Ucluelet! <3

Ukee is great place to visit any time of the year.
Ukee is great place to visit any time of the year. The beaches are more rugged than Tofino which makes for dramatic storm watching on windy days. There are some good restaurants and a grocery store, liquor store etc. If you're looking for raging night life, this is not the place. If you're into being outside, it's great. There are tons of trails, beaches and lookouts to explore.

Loved the proximity to the ocean.
Loved the proximity to the ocean. Great hiking trails in the area and quite a few good restaurants. Enjoyed the low key, unpretentious vibe. We aren’t surfers but it looks like a fantastic place to surf.

Black Rock Resort was an amazing boutique hotel to visit.
Black Rock Resort was an amazing boutique hotel to visit. Their restaurant was so good I ate there 3 times!
Drift Spa at the resort swept me away with four hours of endless Thalassotherapy. They use the cleanest, best skincare on the planet, Seaflora Skincare. Loved my treatments and left stocked up on Seaflora.
Pluvio Restaurant was an experience of its own. We spent 3.5hrs slow food feasting. Peach salmon, hum dogs, pork belly and so many tasty artistic plates that gave us food babies! The chef is truly an artist the way he presents his flavour creations. At one point he gave us these deep fried tomato slice shaped pastry with salmon roe and a creamy sauce… perfect sweet n savory we talked about it for hours!
Pacific Trail was nice, South Beach, Wyat Point… it was all a really nice experience. Heartwood Cafe traditional Benny used real pea meal bacon, which no one out west seems to know about - but that’s how u make a real eggs Benny. Ukee has it all.
The motel looks very sketchy from the outside like it’s been abandoned. The inside is out dated like an old motel but did have a full kitchen and separate bedroom/ bath and was clean. The value is excellent for the west coast way cheaper than other pet friendly options however your expectations shouldn’t be high. It was a clean and affordable which was what we wanted. We were out exploring the whole time so only really slept there.
Perfect stay in Ukee! All the perks of a five-star hotel with the coziness of a tiny boutique hotel. Beautiful, well-decorated and comfortable unit. Great location with an awesome harbour view and an easy walk to anything you might need - from restaurants to groceries to trails. Surprisingly quiet despite the central location. And the hot tub was a welcome bonus after a long day of hiking! Highly recommend.
It was a lovely stay! The room was cozy and comfortable and came stocked with a nice size tv, a mini fridge, microwave, lots of coffee and tea, and a huge bathroom. The beds were super comfortable and clean, and the view from the hotel was amazing! We walked around the harbour in the evening and saw sea lions, jellyfish, eagles, starfish, and even otters! Staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel, staff and stay was was really good. Great place to stay while visiting Ucluelet & Tofino. You maybe might want to take off the advertising of "adult only and pet free". Both of those features were definitely on site. No bother to me, but maybe to the next guest. Thankyou for the wonderful stay................
I liked the quality touches, like yummy smelling locally made soaps and bathroom amenities. The place is bigger than the pictures look too. Great parking right by the door, and its location is very central to most areas of Ucluelet. Cozy and comfortable definitely.
The place has a spacious kitchen with everything that you might need for cooking. Lots of puzzles, activities available in the shared lobby space. Volunteers and other guests were lovely and the accommodation felt safe despite being a popular, high-traffic hostel.
Great views from the room, such a warm hospitality. The room is big, beautiful design and very comfortable. Dian helped us to plan our visit in Ucluelet and around and that made our days unforgettable.
Beautiful location. Beautiful clean rooms.
Staff non existent
Room needs microwave
Path to rooms gravel with hills and steps. If elderly, sick or handicapped may consider another hotel
The room smell musky & old. It was uncomfortably cold even after I turned on the heater. For the price, I expected something better. It’s a 2 star hotel asking for a 4 star price!
Great place to stay in Ucluelet, on a waterfront harbour location. It was quiet, kitchen well equipped, extra supplies in the cupboard. Everything we needed was there.
Very clean room and bathroom, very friendly staff, great location and view, very comfortable beds, good price, best shower ever in a hotel, TV, fridge and coffee maker.
Lovely Place to stay in Ucluelet! Very nice hosts. The road to Ucluelet was closed on the day of our arrival. We were regularely updated by mail about the situation.
