Capital of the Republic of China (commonly known as Taiwan), huge Taipei is surrounded by mountains. Taipei 101, once the world’s tallest building, dominates its skyline from Xinyi, an area known for the most active nightlife.
At Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall the national flag is raised every morning and the guard changed every hour. Less known for tourists is National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, containing a tall bronze statue of the country’s founding father.
Of the wealth of Taipei museums, the best are Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines and the National Palace Museum – one of world’s largest collections of Chinese artifacts. Even more numerous are the temples dedicated to Buddhist, Taoist and Chinese folk religions. Xinsheng South Road is nicknamed ‘Road to Heaven’ for its sheer number, but most famous is Longshan Temple in Wanhua, the oldest district.
Taipei shopping is fantastic and includes Core Pacific Living Mall, supposedly Asia’s largest. The Ximending area has lots of shops (and karaoke), while the Shilin Night Market should not be missed. For a break from the bustle head to central Daan Forest Park, the botanical gardens with its lotus ponds,or Yangmingshan National Park, known for hot spring baths and spring cherry blossom.
Whether you fly into Songshan or Taiwan Taoyuan Airport, efficient public transport takes you to the Taipei hotels on Booking.com.

Taipei was a very nice place to visit. very modernized city. a lot of interesting places to see. the only problem I faced was communicating with English language.
but generally it was an exultant trip and I would do it again if I have the chance.

Friendly people, great restaurants, interesting culture and country history. Not always cheap, so do some research beforehand!
Used a Travel Operator to go to Yehliu & Jiufen & Shifen, on a Day Tour (Departure from Ximending), I was interesting and fun.
I also found some interesting clothes shops, even though I had no intention to buy anything.
If you like tea, Taipei/Taiwan will surely reward your taste buds. But not cheap!
The famous Din Tai Fung (chain) of restaurants is pretty good, and it is worth the experience. I went to the Xinyi branch right at the opening to avoid long cues.
Taipei is a very green city, even though cars and local bikes can't stop moving around!

Taipei is a really colorful and functional city, with very kind people who are willing to help you find your direction around. I would highly recommend a visit to any of the night markets, and to try out some good Taiwanese 'Hot Pot'. The use of trains is the best and most affordable means to get around the city. Try the pineapple cakes too!

I like many places in Taiwan both natural and meseum. Maokoong gonderla , Beitou Hotpring (should prepare swimming suite), National Palace mesuem- there is a lot of beutiful art to see. I went to Jiefen old street, the view is very attractive. I think the MRT transportation and bus is very convinient and cheap. We also found many kind taiwanese that ready to help you when you get lost. I with family will be very happy and will go back again. : )

Although the city got cleaned up and modernized a lot, it still has the magic it had around the millenium. It;s a bit like Tokyo and Seoul but Taipei has that perfect vibe of hard work, fun and tollerance that you cannot find elsewhere...

First visit and love love love Taipei.
First visit and love love love Taipei. Friendly locals - got lost in a lane and a guy asked me to follow him to the main road. Even my rubbish Mandarin got me through as most people had pretty good English. Clean, safe and nice vibes!
This hotel is completely gorgeous, the design of room is so thoughtful with beautiful mid century style wood accents, a large bathroom with a shower and bathtub, a fancy heated toilet, and delightful L’Occitane toiletries. Our room had a balcony with a gorgeous view of the cultural park and Taipei 101. Having all the great shops and the AMAZING bookstore inside the building was also so fun! And breakfast was absolutely incredible both days, from the scallop and abalone congee to the perfect smoked salmon and everything in between.
The location was great, right next to their famous event stadium in Taipei. On the right side of the main entrance is connected to a mall that has everything from clothing to snacks and food. it was pretty close to everything that we needed to get to. There are parks and other food courts around the area within 15 minutes of walking distance. bus stop is 3 to 4 mins of walking. The concierge was super helpful. There's also a 7/11 behind the hotel, it's tuck away, so ask the front desk.
Excellent location and provides parking space for customers. There’s a MRT station beside the property that you can easily to travel. The lobby is big and comfortable and the staff were very kind. We were luckily to have a room with the city views. The staying was cozy, and you can watch Netflix on TV. Besides, the sound-proofing is very nice, we didn’t hear any noises from other rooms nor the hallway. Breakfast provides different eggs meals, and we were enjoyed. Very awesome hotel.
A classic Asian "no-tell-hotel". Not new, but the room is private, large, clean and comfortable. Wonderful place to nurture your relationship with the one you love. For westerners not used to "no-tell-hotels", familiarize yourself with the unique quirks of check-in, check-out, privacy, etc., so you will have a sense of where you are, and can enjoy yourself when you get there. Within 800 meters of subway, shops, food, riverside walk, etc., in a wonderful suburb of Taipei.
The location is great! It's close to public transportations as well as surrounded by shops and restaurants. The decor in the entire hotel is unique and nice. Staff is very professional and friendly. There is free laundry on the first floor. The entire second floor is like a huge living room with chairs and free tea/coffee/snacks/ramen noodles. The room is very very quiet. I've stayed at this hotel many times this year and it's becoming my 2nd home!
This was the perfect hotel for me in Taipei for the following reason:
- decent sized room which was clean and comfortable
- 24/7 free laundry/dryer and coffee machine available in the main lobby
- well-located - just walk straight down the road to catch the Airport Express and also enter one of the many underpasses to navigate to Taipei main station (great when the weather is either too hot or raining)
- friendly reception
This is a great place to stay in Taipei. The rooms are new and well-designed, staff are nice, free snacks and laundry. We stayed for 10 days and ended up staying in all the room types except for the one without a private bathroom and all were good. Will definitely stay again next time. Ps. The hotel is inside Lions Plaza. Walk in and go straight to the back where the lifts are, it’s on the 9th floor.
We stayed 3 times in Caesar Park hotel. Check in was always fast and performed by friendly English speaking staff. The baggage storing before the room was available and, in particular, between our 3 stays, was efficient and performed by friendly, English speaking employees. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The roof garden of the hotel is a great place to relax and take photos of the site.
Arrived with a bicycle - very convenient from the bike path at the river and close to bus station/subway when I left. The street is close, so it can be a little loud, but you might also get a parking lot at the hotel. There is a nice beer place across the street- Sunday nights are 2for1 there. The room/bathroomis clean, but you cansee that you need to fight humidity allthe time.
It is a 5-star hostel if you looking for somewhere worry free while you are traveling in budget. I have stayed there three time in Taipei and it’s my favourite hostel so far. Excellent location that close to Taipei Station with lots of attractions, local food places and convenient stores around. The daily breakfast can easily beat any-star hotel’s breakfast. Highly recommended!
We loved this hotel and wished we had booked more nights. The rooms are spacious, clean and the bed comfortable. The hot water tub in the bathroom is a definite plus. We also enjoyed the Beitou area, more relaxed and quieter than the bustle of Taipei, but an easy 27 min metro ride to the Taipei ,win station. We will definitely stay here again when we transit through Taipei.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, helped us move to a different room for free when there was a smell of smoke in the room
The hotel is also proximal to Zhongshan, Taipei MRT, Songshan-Nanjing and quite well connected everywhere by bus
There is good food near Zhongshan MRT and many surrounding cafes
There is a small but nice park nearby
Simple, cozy hotel rooms, quiet and safe neighborhood. My room faces to the opposite park.
The lady (housekeeper) is really nice and friendly.
Location: around 15 minute walk from Shilin night market and Jiantan MRT station, you will cross some restaurants, 7/11, Family Mart and a lovey park.
This is an ideal city break hotel. It is very comfortable and well run by friendly efficient staff. The surrounding area has many inexpensive eateries and coffee terraces. There are many individual shops to explore. To go further afield there is easy access to Taipei's metro system
The hotel's proximity to Taipei Main Station makes it extremely convenient for travelers who rely on public transportation. The easy access to the station allows for seamless exploration of the city and convenient connections to other parts of Taiwan.
This hotel is so so comfortable and clean. It is walkable to 101, has laundry, and has great service. The lady who worked at the breakfast restaurant was so friendly and kind. She even offered her home made tea to me.
Grand Hyatt Taipei is a very big hotel, right next to 101, that is easily reachable through a covered passage. Nice comfy rooms and nice breakfast. Personal always very helpful and speaking all very good English.
The ease of access to the hotel from Taipei Main station. It's literally just next to the station from exit M8. There are eateries around the neighbourhood. 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
Elegantly appointed hotel a short walk (5-600m) to many restaurants in the Daan Park / Jinshan area. Very good breakfast, polite helpful staff. Great value!
