It's very strange to have keyboxes on every door and no staff. That's obviously very easy for the owner! not a problem.

Its a comfortable place to stay, although it is very basic and functional. Communication was good via text, but no staff on site. I actually stayed an extra night because the price and location is ok.

Would be nice if there was a bathroom door, as you walk through to the bathroom from the bedroom. You can’t see in from the bed but would still be nice to have some privacy.

Easy to find even with us arriving in the dark. Good communication with manager. Property was very clean, comfortable and very good value for money.

Very impersonal service with door codes on every door, but functional. That didn't really matter, just a bot different. As a basic place to sleep it's ok. I stayed an extra night so not bad. In hindsight I think that Port Patrick is a nice place to visit but oh well, not bad.

I didn't realize when I booked that the bathroom was not in the bedroom. We had to go into the hallway, and the bathroom was next door. It was a private bathroom, but it could only be locked from the inside, so we weren't comfortable leaving our things in it overnight. There was also a bad water stain on the ceiling in the bedroom and no mirror over the sink in the bathroom.

Easy self-check-in, and the room was larger than many we had booked. The beds were comfy and the room was clean.

The big picture window in bathroom right on the front although frosted glass needed blind or curtains. Front door had strong self closer and needed a pull handle on inside of door.

I found it looking a wee bit tired compared to previous visits. I could see the door- locks have been upgraded- which is very welcome. I’m wondering if it is time to upgrade the pillows and mattress covers. It was not as comfortable as I recall- and I have stayed in room6 several times over recent years. Unfortunately, there was a really noisy family in several other rooms downstairs, so that did not help.

Lots of space, clean and comfortable in a great location. We needed to contact the owner with a small issue, he answered straight away and couldn't have been more helpful.

Hadn’t realised bathroom was not en-suite from room description on booking. Made things awkward as daughter didn’t like leaving room and going on her own. Didn’t meet any staff but Arrival instructions all straight forward and easy.

A bit of a step to the waterfront.

We arrived earlier and the cleaning staff were exceptionally good and helped us with bags. The lockbox system worked perfectly. Some reviews complained about the bathroom windows lacking blinds or curtains however the window frosting completely blocked any view from the outside even at night with the lights on, so anyone complaining must be hard up for things to whinge about.

Well no curtains in the shower IAM not shy so it didn't annoy me people walking by I could see them through the bathroom window so IAM sure they could see me lol

Waterfall part of shower needs re-attached to wall before it damages the unit(room4), could do with internal handle on front door as its a bit heavy to open if you are carrying things - and maybe a few more hangers in wardrobe. No real criticism just helpful comments I hope.

No exhaust fan in toilet, host can look into installing one. Parking may be difficult as it is on street, which may be full. Host is inconsiderate, our ferry was cancelled due to storm l, we could not travel, this was beyond our control, but host refused to change dates, even though Booking. Com customer service also sympathetically considered our circumstances and requested the host. Rooms in this property are rented on non refundable basis but host could be more considerate. Our stay therefore costed us double the price.

The smoke alarm outside the room was beeping intermittently throughout the night as the battery’s were needing replaced, however this did not put us off our sleep and I’m sure if we reported this it would have been resolved.

This is the third time we have stayed as a family at the Windsor House. The accommodation is excellent and we were given the family room at the top floor as per the previous two stays. The key lock approach suits us as we normally arrive a bit later in the evening as we use the hotel as an overnight stay prior to getting a ferry in the morning. The room is always very clean and spacious for a family of four.
