The room was large with big windows overlooking the quiet street. It was nicely decorated as was the hotel overall. It was close to nice, lively restaurants and other attractions. Staff were helpful. The hotel has a lovely, cultivated old charm - it felt like a hotel from a Jean Rhys novel.

Nice, well equipped apartment. Very functional. Had read some reviews about the shady nature of the location but found it not to be true. Returned at almost midnight from the Eiffel tower with my wife and 2 small children by metro and felt completely safe.

No response to messages prior check-in. I had read about the lack of response from the property in the reviews but was still taken aback when till the last minute there was no communication with respect to request for early check-in and the check in procedure. I feel what the property fails to understand is that a tourist may not be well versed with Paris and will plan his or her arrival to the last minute detail. The lack of communication causes unnecessary apprehension. The property does not have to give details of the key box code , etc. However the rest of the details such as check-in procedure can be shared. In the last 40 days I stayed at over 18 places in various parts of Europe. Some places had some nasty surprises where the key collection was at a different location making it difficult to lug your baggage from one place to another. A clear cut instructions on check-in procedure is essential and should be sent to the customer no less than 2 days in advance. The access codes can be shared just before arrival. Also the links provided by the property in it's rare messages do not work. Sometimes a link is mentioned in the message but none provided. Small things which if improved. will go a long way to enhance customer experience. Only fault I found with the apartment was the low water pressure in the shower.

The staff was a bit unprepared for the "large" group having breakfast, therefore the service was slow and with insufficient clean plates etc and glasses etc. so we as guests had to ask a lot and improvise to make it work.
