Nazca, Peru, a land of mysteries and wonders, left me utterly spellbound. The trifecta of Cahuachi, the Nazca Lines, and Cantalloc made my journey truly unforgettable.
Cahuachi, the ancient ceremonial center, immersed me in the enigmatic world of the Nazca culture. The sight of the towering adobe pyramids and the sacred plazas spoke volumes about their sophisticated civilization.
The Nazca Lines, those intricate geoglyphs etched into the desert floor, were a sight to behold from the scenic flight. The colossal shapes of animals and geometrical figures sparked my imagination, leaving me in awe of the artistic prowess of an ancient civilization.
In Cantalloc, the awe-inspiring underground aqueduct system showcased the ingenious engineering skills of the Nazca people. Venturing into the subterranean channels and witnessing their advanced water management techniques was nothing short of remarkable.
Throughout my stay, the warmth and friendliness of the locals made me feel at home. I savored authentic Peruvian delicacies, including delicious ceviche, which heightened the cultural experience.
Nazca is a place that transcends time and captivates the soul. It offers a unique blend of history, mystery, and culture. If you have a thirst for exploration and a fascination with ancient civilizations, Nazca is a destination that will leave you awestruck and yearning for more.

Flight over the Nazca lines was amazing and Desert adventure tours. I had a dinner at Nazca retrobar that was so good I came back the next day for lunch. Interesting history and a nice little bustling city, friendly people. I arrived at 2am and felt safe walking the three blocks to the hotel!

Went on a Nazca lines flight this morning and it was brilliant, had a great lunch at Nazca Retrobar and a couple of Mojitos, after an afternoon nap, I explored the bustling town of Nazca, saw the markets, shops, parks and had a nice dinner at El Porton. Nice place to spend a couple of days.

Right now, the beginning of March, is the hot season, the days are typically 32/33/35 degrees C, so be prepared for hot days. You'll definitely want a wide-brimmed hat, maybe one with the cover flap that protects the back of your neck, and sunscreen.
Nazca is a nice little town, the streets are generally cleaner than most of the coastal towns I've visited in both Ecuador and Peru. There are a few nice parks, at least 4 coffee shops (one had a broken espresso machine), a couple of minimarkets for groceries (no supermarket though). There is construction happening along the river at this time.
I like Nazca and would definitely return if and when the chance arises.

There's a lot to see in Nazca on the archeological side (the Nasca civilization) but most of it is a few kilometers away. So you need to think of taxis (there are lots and they're not expensive) or tours. Antonini museum is interesting as is the nightly talk in the Planetarium hotel.
Nasca is not a big town but the atmosphere is friendly and I felt safe there.

Yes, taking a flight over the Nasca lines is worth it.
Yes, taking a flight over the Nasca lines is worth it. We had concerns about safety and read quite a bit before we decided who to fly with and our hotel also happened to have links with the company. I now wish we had done the longer trip, but I might have thought otherwise if our flight hadn't haven been very smooth. While the town is no Cusco or Arequippa there's enough to do closeby for a couple of days.
Breakfast was coffee, rolls and jam, which they also served after our Nazca lines flight. Inside patios with plants and birds.
Managers very helpful, one took us on personal visits to all the tours I was going to book with local operators, so much more convenient, another took us to the bus meeting place in his car for free, when PeruHop guide wanted us to call for a taxi.
Nazca lines tower overlook and flight with Aeronasca were excellent, despite the exorbitant cost - just remember to take a travel sickness tablet!
Perfect for a budget solo traveler. The room was a good size and had a small table, a cupboard, and lots of hooks to organize your things. Juan and his wife were wonderful hosts! So gracious, helpful, and enthusiastic about sharing their town and the Nazca culture. Juan personally greeted me at my bus drop of and arranged for my tour driver to drop me off at my bus pick up halfway through the tour since I didn't have time for the second have. Overall, great experience!
The host Juango went above and beyond with recommendations and local information about the area, things to see, and how to get to them. An incredibly welcoming and impressive person with truly astounding multilingual talents! Hope to meet again one day!
The property is also right next to the airport (10 minutes walk) for flyovers to see the Nazca lines and a short drive/moderate walk to the Acuaducto de Ocongalla.
Clean and comfortable small hotel just a few minutes walk from the Cruz del Sur bus station. Good beds and decent shower. The owner, Juan, met us at the bus station and then walked us back there at 03h00 for an early bus. We're glad he did as the station was locked up and the security guard fast asleep. Juan managed to rouse him. Excellent service.
Juan is a total gem, super helpful and welcoming. Speaks several languages and is overall a very nice man, so are the other employees. The hotel is basic but was totally fine for our needs. Juan can also organize trips and flights for the lines. We enjoyed our stay here!
- Very kind host, helps with organising tours at reasonable prices (and flights over Nazca lines), you don't have to do anything, transport will take you from the hotel
- Clean room with comfy bed
- Good internet
- Very close to main bus stations
One of the best stays I had in Peru. I was there only for a night but it was a good experience. The owners were very kind and caring, he even waited for me at the bus station when I arrived in Nazca. Room was clean, bed comfortable, nice shower.
A lovely hotel for one night. Staff always friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was plentiful. We were able to store our luggage at the hotel when we checked out and waited for our night bus. Great location for restaurants shops and banks
Nice hotel, great staff, I arrived at 2 AM and reception greeted me and my room was ready, good basic breakfast, they contacted me in advance to offer me Nazca line flights, nice people, good value, hot shower.
Perhaps the amount paid. In nazca, don't miss the planetarium. The tour is really worth it for the link that is made between astronomy and the lines, with in-depth explanations and more accepted theories.
I could see the airplanes for the Nazca lines flight from the hostel , they picked me up , late in the night , i got the tours from the hostel , Juan the host speak Many languages ,
Very clean rooms, a great price for what you get. The hotel staff was also very helpful when we had any questions about arranging taxis, etc. We were very satisfied with our stay.
Basic simple rooms. The location is excellent. We could walk to the square, shops and restaurants. If you look for a place to stay in Nazca for a night or two, this is the place.
Angela was a great host and helped organize the type of Nazca-Palpa flight we were seeking after another tour company was trying to extract potentially unnecessary fees.
