Breakfast was great and filling. Staff was super nice and accommodating. They allowed us to do an early check in and it is super close to the Plaza de Armas so you get to sleep in a bit more. Close to a lot of restaurants and churches to explore. TV and WiFi worked great and there was hot water which is a huge plus! This hotel was an amazing find.

The first thing my wife and I noticed was that the town was much quieter than other Peruvian towns we visited. I spent a lot of time undertaking photography, most people were happy to be photographed, there were some good colonial buildings you could photograph but not so much in relation to landscapes.
Eating at the markets was the most affordable and offered the largest variety of local food.

Great city to have fun, has it all, culture, food,...
Great city to have fun, has it all, culture, food, cathedrals, art, archaeology, music, fun outdoor trips with breath taking scenery. People are very friendly and helpful. A suggestion: don't book your tours in advance online, do it when you get there, you will find many tour kiosks around the main plaza and you can book the night before. A tour that online cots $120 dollars per person, that same tour at the plaza is $20, huge difference. Pocket the difference and tip your tour guides and drivers generously, they don't make enough money.
Happy travels in Ayacucho.

Very busy streets but decent markets and night life.
Very busy streets but decent markets and night life. Great restaurants but no English on menus. Not many speak English which makes to tough to get around. Lots of taxi but they often charge more than they should. The plaza was beautiful and great views from restaurants that surround those. Overall, the stay was decent and town was OK.

Took the tour out to Wari today.
Took the tour out to Wari today. Great guide but be aware the guides here speak Spanish only. There are several other tours on offer--another one I had hoped to do is to the Aguas turquesas. It appears to be 4 hours out and 4 hours back with some time at the pools. Not sure yet if I'll do it--one hell of a drive!

Well Ayacucho itself is not that big as a city.
Well Ayacucho itself is not that big as a city. So, literally have a walk around the main square or plaza de armas and check out the tours. Negociate the price too, 5 or 10 soles difference.
A nice place to eat is called Via Via, they have a restaurant on the second floor overlooking the main square, at night it is really nice and for breaky it can be a little too sunny lol
Research well where you want to stay. It is best to look around and do not buy tours online as they can be much more expensive and in $$$USD. Go straight to the source themselves around the main square. Bring lots of suncream and a hat and a coat lol crazy to mention them in the same sentence. Morning and especially at night it can get a tad chilly, wind can pick up and you will feel the cold. But during the day it can be too hot lol
Typical food I would recommend trying as it was delicious is "Puka Picante" it is like a stew with fried pork, very yummy and drink chica de jora which is local as well. Enjoy!! Ahhhh the city is about 2700m above sea level!!

Ayacucho is a big Peruvian town, has a lot of History, somehow tranquil town, a beautiful Plaza de Armas with Excellent restaurants. Has some tours to a beautiful natural places like aguas Tunquesas, very pleasent town.
The best hotel I've been to in Ayacucho. Super recommended, I plan to return. Because the host is super friendly, hospitable and attentive to any request. On this occasion he gave us a phenomenal room upgrade. The initial room that corresponded to us was very beautiful from the photos, in person it was much better. He gave us a tour of the hotel and I consider the Hotel to be 5 stars. The rooms have the bathroom, the TV, the furniture, the mattress, all brand new and of the best quality.
The hotel is in a residential neighborhood outside the center part of town. It's quiet and safe and convenient from the airport as well only 7-8 soles to town by taxi. I booked a single room with a communal kitchen but got the first three days in an apartment with a kitchen. Both are good for those who like to cook and have a kitchen. Seems a good value ratio and I would not hesitate to book it again.
It was probably the best Hotel we had in Peru, from the extremely Frindly Stuff (the owner and his family) to the exelent service we resived. We had the feeling of a 5* Hotel (European standard) we woud recommend it to ever person who is looking for a stay in Ayacucho. Thanks for the great service that when beyond ouwer wildest dreams. We hope we will meet again. Best regards Philipp and George
The hotel is in a wonderful location, in the city center and has an amazing terrace at the third level that overlooks the city. Staff is very friendly and helpful but doesn't speak English, as is the case in most of Peru. The room was bright and spacious enough, the bed comfortable, and amenities clean. I would definitely recommend it.
I had a very nice stay, the rooms are spacious, the bed very comfortable, the shower was hot with very good pressure plus all the staff is always smiling and ready to help. It's was a very good place to stay in Ayacucho. Right in the center, location was perfect, thanks Sra. Nieves and all the nice people working there .
Great location, 1 minute walk from Plaza Mayor. Attractive old building and courtyard. Staff were all helpful, though overall the hotel's offering was quite limited. Felt safe, and night-time security was good. Next-day laundry service on asking. The room was very large, comfortable bed, everything worked well.
The room was very clean and beautiful. I was able to see mountains and the towers of a church near by from my balcony. All the staff was very nice. From this hotel it took only 1 minute on foot to my tour agency office, so it was really convenient.
A very new hotel in the centre of Ayacucho. A short walk from the main square and historic district. Friendly and helpful staff, well-appointed room with modern private bathroom. Large selection of options for breakfast. Secure parking garage.
Very bad hotel:
People are not nice and helpful they refused to give us the wifi, they asked more money then is on the booking
The room has no window, the bed is awful.
We felt bad in this place. Awful experience I don’t recommend
The beds and rooms are immaculate. What I like the most is the staff's friendliness and professionalism. This hotel is beautiful! It has nice views from the balconies as well. I fully recommend this place.
it was a very very recomendable place. its just about 2 squares from the central plaza de armas and the market with many interesting things is just front of the hotel
the hotel was really welcoming , even when we arrived late. the breakfast was simple and very good, the family who owns it is very friendly . I recommend this hostel
The hotel was very close to the centre and we were very comfortable :) The staff also helped us plan our two days there and even got us a taxi to the bus station.
All of this hotel. Really a nicel view of the City. The location so close to the center and place. Amazing rooms, size of room, modern design and more.
A great little hotel with a homey touch. The staff is super nice and ready to help. They really came through for me.
A place I'd be happy to return to.
