The hotel is in a nice location very close to the main streets and squares of the town - felt very safe. Rooms were small but had everything we needed, including a very comfortable bed. While it can get cold in the night, the staff can provide blankets and/or heaters. Everywhere was clean and quiet, and the staff were very helpful when we needed to organise taxis or get advice about the town. Overall it was a nice stay and great value!

I was most taken by the interior design, tastefully and innovatively incorporating local textile crafts in its decorative scheme. This is an exceptionally beautiful little hotel.
The staff were very friendly and helpful with our arrangements. Super useful to have an English speaker among them!

Staff was friendly and accommodating. We could do an early check-in after a long bus ride and leave our bags until late in the evening to catch another night bus. The room was clean and spacious. Beds were comfy and the blankets warm enough (there were even more in a wardrobe in case we were cold). Towels and bathroom were good, hot water and hair dryer (didn't use it though). The location was great. There was Water to refill our bottles. Highly recommended! Thanks!

Very well located hotel on the main street close to all the cafes and shops and main plaza, within walking distance of all the main sights and the bus station. Rooms are located around a lovely central courtyard. The room was well appointed with tv and ensuite. Staff were very friendly. And the room happened to be available when I arrived early in the morning so they let me check in.

Nice colonial city centre in the top of Chiapas mountains...
Nice colonial city centre in the top of Chiapas mountains with lots of options: nature, food, cultural and especially the coffee and chocolate.
Very nice place to chill and even spend a long time to enjoy the atmosphere, visit the surroundings and enjoying the nice weather.
I think this would be a great place to spend several weeks and work remotely.

This city has a lovely atmosphere and the people is friendly, the main plaza is awesome with many vendors offering their hand made clothes. It is amazing to lear how many days it takes to produce a single piece of clothing.. they truly work hard to earn their living.

San cris is such an amazing place.
San cris is such an amazing place. Not only the town but the surrounding areas too and especially the locals and local travellers were really kind and helpful. I met lots of lovely people, It felt really safe too but I just stayed within the touristy circuit.
I recommend doing all the tours, especially the one to Palenque ruins. It's a long one but totally worth it.
I should have stayed longer to do the jungle bit. Lots of people recommended me booking the tours once there but since I had just 6 days, I should have booked the whole circuit tour that takes you to the jungle for a few days.
The food was amazing. There wasn't enough times during the day to try everything and if you are a coffee lover, get lots of coffee too.

San Cristobal is a very easy place to stay for a week.
San Cristobal is a very easy place to stay for a week. It is a great base for trips and there is plenty to do in the town. Lots of food options. Past the main plaza there are streets that offer very good meal of the day options and whatever your food preference you can find it here. I particularly loved El Arcotete national park, you can get a collectivo here for Q15. Also the free textile musuem is worth a visit.

A beautiful but very large city located high up in the mountains (2200m) so be prepared for cool nights! Two long pedestrian streets lined with shops, bars, restaurants and market sellers as well as markets at either end. Great things to see and do in the environs of the city such as San Juan Chamula, Zinancantan, Caves of Rancho Nuevo, Canyon (closer to Tuxtla), etc. The amber museum in town was fascinating!

We had been told about a beautiful old small colonial town...
We had been told about a beautiful old small colonial town founded in 1528; it resulted to be the third city or town in the Chiapas state and definitely, larger that we thought.
However, the interesting area from a tourist perspective is the historic centre which is completely walkable.
You can walk the central boulevard from the Arco del Carmen (old city gate) all the way up to the Cathedral and visit a number of "templos" (old churches) each of one with an interesting history behind.
For the nature lovers, there is a number of tours from the town to beautiful spots.

Super friendly staff! We booked 3 tours at the hotel and they were very helpful with everything. Also with organising the airport transfer for our out-bound flight. They waved us goodbye with a souvenir gift.
Here is where I had my best sleep of my 1 month trip in mexico. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very dark when you turn of the lights so you can really get a good night's sleep. The quiet hours are from 10 pm to 10 am.
We had a shared bathroom but everything was kept very clean.
Close to the city center.
The location is very central. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast was delicious. Nice rooftop with sunset view over the town. Best part of the hotel is Ramon Gonzalez from the frontdesk. He was super super nice and helped us with everything ranging from restaurant recommendations, museums, sights, how to get around and gave us the feeling of “coming home” at this very nice place.
The Coffee Bean Hostel was one of the best experiences I have had as a traveler. It is just the right amount of social, not too much but always an option if needed. I really loved the staff and the owner is very nice. It is clean, affordable, and really well designed. But, the best thing about this hostel is the shower. It was the best shower I have used in the South of Mexico.
We loved this hotel. It is beautifully designed and was our favorite place to stay in Mexico in general. Our room was very big, had a huge and comfortable bed and a nice bathroom with a good shower (once you knew that it takes its time to get warm-but then it was perfect). The staff is very friendly. We even extended our stay for another night.
Beautiful hotel in a colonial house with a superb restaurant and bar within (the staff is super nice too!). I loved the very green open areas, which are decorated with the best taste as was my room, which was spacious, clean, and with all the things you may need to have a comfortable stay. I loved my time here so I highly recommend this place.
The best! Hot showers. Everything is so cute and clean. You have the feeling to be in a high end hotel. The stuff is really nice and you can do early checkin and leave your luggage if necessary. I totally loved the Mexican blanket on our bed. They also lend hair dryers. 10 minutes by foot from the centre. Perfect!
Everything is superb in this hotel. The warm swim pool, the excellent wifi signal, the ever comfortable bed, the cleanness of the property, gardens, room, the aromatic roses. The friendly staff. We came to stay 2 nights. We stayed 11!
Thank you for your welcoming and hard work
Eveything in this hotel is perfect. The staff was attentive to our needs. The food was delicious and variable. At the same time the hotel's decoration was amazing. It has a colonial and traditional Chiapas style. The room also had eveything we needed.
The hotel located a 3 blocks from all the restaurants, shopping and center of town. Far enough away to be quiet. The staff are nice and welcoming. MUST GET THE BREAKFAST. their home made marmalade is amazing. Good pressure on showers and hot water.
Everything was great! Good location, the nights were quiet, the staff was friendly, comfortable bed… and every day a nice hot shower with a lot of pressure. This hotel was one of the best on my trip through Mexico. I will come again.
The room was immaculate and the location of the hotel is perfect- you’re literally a 5 minute walk away from everything in town. We also liked the cute little courtyard and common area, and the staff were great!
Best private room I’ve had in Mexico. Clean, quiet, run by a super nice and helpful lady. I will definitely come back. An oasis of peace in a nice town. It was also nice to have a hot shower
This place is an unknown gem. This was our second stay at this hotel.
Relaxing garden, beautifully decorated hotel, spacious rooms, delicious breakfast and dinner, friendly staff.
Central location, very clean, helpful staff, heated swimming pool with pool towels included. Very comfortable beds. Really nothing to complain. Best stay in Mexico so far.
This is such a beautiful hotel, it felt like a 5 star hotel. Everything was perfect. Large, comfortable bed, nice bathroom. Architectural details. Nice courtyard
