Quick gateway to the Daintree rain forest and Great Barrier Reef. The town is peaceful but big enough to get everything you need. There is no public transport but pay fee shuttle services. We hired a car and found that useful. People used push bike hire. There are plenty of restaurants, ice cream shops. The tour options are never ending. We did a snorkelling tour to the outer reef and a day trip to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation.

Very nice town has lots of shops restaurant cafes and pubs, nice beach and very chill. Town centre is very walkable. We by coincidence were there for carnivale which is 2 days of celebrations, was great fun, and the place is very family friendly.

I really liked the wide variety of places to dine and all within easy walking distance. Lovely walk along the beach and up to the viewing points. Very clean and in a great location for getting to other areas of interest in that part of Queensland. It’s a great location.

We have been regulars in Port Douglas for the last twenty years the most consistent restaurants are as follows
1.Zinc
2. Salsa
3. Iron Bar
4. Gelato place called La Capenina
Most people are very friendly and accommodating and walking along 4 Mile beach is great however if you’re a family and want to see the reef don’t let the experience be soured by the expense as you do need a bit of money however

Great family holiday destination; lots to do.
Great family holiday destination; lots to do.
Snorkelling at the reef, strolling on the beaches and in the rainforest. Hartleys crocodile well worth a visit.
Lovely warm weather; easy to get around.
Roading up to Cape Tribulation still slow and some surface flooding due to heavy rainfall whilst we were there.

Location is amazing, just a short 15-20 minute car drive to the famous Mossman Gorge - DONT LEAVE PORT DOUGLAS WITHOUT GOING TO MOSSMAN GORGE - a truly great place to swim but be very, very, extremely cautious whilst in the water - the currents are very strong in some areas of the gorge.
Port Douglas is very scenic and majestic with many beautiful beaches - most of which you really cannot swim as there are signs advising caution with the possibility of crocks and marine stingers. Port Douglas has a vast range of eateries - would definitely recommend staying/visiting.
My family stayed here recently in Mid November. The accomodation I usually book for Port Douglas was booked out and I came across this house. I’m so glad I did. The host Nicole came to check if we settled in ok and needed anything. So lovey and accomodating. The house is beautiful and the pool amazing. The house had everything you need and is in a lovely quiet sit not too far from the main shops, we had a car with us so it was perfect. Lots of room for a large group. Can’t wait to stay here again. 😊
Lovely and helpful staff, clean and really comfortable, easy location right at the end of the main street of Port Douglas (great beach access if you're going to Four Mile Beach). Not a "luxury resort"-style hotel, but clean, friendly, quirky, and welcoming, and has everything you need (and way more - bikes, puzzles, DVDs, beach accessories, etc). Definitely exceeded our expectations. We had a great experience, and would highly recommend it.
Beyond expectations - beautiful like a little villa on Bali. Massive rooms that have a private outdoor sitting area and shower, a mini kitchen, king bed, and big lounge area. Beautifully kept landscaping across the resort, large pool, honesty bar, and only a 15 minute walk into town. Also has gated parking. Such good value, and staff were very nice and accommodating. Will definitely stay here if we are ever in port Douglas again.
Staff were pleasant on arrival. Location is great as just down from marina and across the road from an entry point of 4 mile beach. Everything could be walked to in 10-20min, we had a car which helped as I wouldn’t recommend if you needed to walk with groceries, Woolys might be too far. Parking available outside your rooms, similar to a motel set up. Was cheap and cheerful to allow us to explore Port Douglas!
The pools are amazing, the ability to order from your sun bed with QR code was great, and the new Asian fusion restaurant that recently opened at the hotel was exceptional, the breakfast especially. The swim-up bar was everything you'd expect it to be and more. Great location if you don't mind a 25min walk into town. Buses into town available on demand made it easy if not wanting to walk or in a rush.
Perfect location for exploring Port Douglas and the surrounding area. The accommodation was superb, excellent layout, clean and beautiful and the staff were extremely helpful, especially Lee, who was kind enough to help us with our queries before our arrival from the UK. I would highly recommend these apartments and would love to come back! Thank you so much :)
Central location in Port Douglas, made going out very easy. It was affordable, spacious and of great value. Would definitely recommend.
They supply board games in each room, which was fun! It was a good way to spend time together during the wet season. We really enjoyed our stay in our apartment.
Location was superb, simple two minute walk to the heart of Port Douglas. The villa itself is a Balinese work of art, with multiple living areas and courtyards, and a fantastic heated pool where we spent a lot of time. Plenty of fan and air-con options, we were very happy to be here.
Great location right in the heart of Port Douglas so easily accessible to shops. restaurants and beach. The gardens were pretty with a small pool and nice and quiet. The apartments have all that you need for a short stay and bed was large and comfortable.
Fantastic accommodation with two large pool areas. A very quiet, relaxing place which is in a great location. It was easy to walk to all of Port Douglas's great restaurants, cafes and hotels for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
No breakfast provided.
Location a short drive or walk from the centre of Port Douglas
It was very quiet and we slept well
Edward was extremely helpful with arranging a trip and sharing his knowledge of the local area
The house is big and has what you need - except internet. Location is at the entrance to Port Douglas, the house backs onto the main highway although couldn't be heard from the front of the house.
Kids enjoyed the pool.
Ability to check in early and leave later than the check out time was very much appreciated as it allowed us to relax from the beginning of our stay. Location of the apartments in the center of Port Douglas is awesome
Amanda and Peter were very friendly and welcoming .They gave us lots of tips about what to do around Port Douglas. The apartments are in a great location , just a short stroll to all the restaurants and bars.
We love this place, we visit Port Douglas every Year and have tried many different resorts but have now stayed here the last 3 years in a row. The facilities, location and pool are fantastic
Friendly helpful staff. Great bar meals & deals. Clean & green. We love Port Douglas. Hoping Dougies stays on operation for years to come! Thanks for free shuttle from/return to Cairns!!
